Slow Cooker Mermaid Fudge Recipe

Slow Cooker Mermaid Fudge Recipe

I have wanted to use a fudge recipe now for ages. Like, ages and ages! It is something that is so easy to make {3 ingredients!} and in all honesty, as easy as it is, I just never got around to it. Until now! My original plan was to make it for Annabelle’s birthday party back at the end of January. But that didn’t happen! I swear we need more hours in the day!

However, I made it anyway because who doesn’t love a fudge treat after school! For this recipe, I’ve followed the lovely Donna’s Simple white chocolate fudge recipe from What the Redhead said. I’ve obviously added a few more elements because it’s an array of mermaid-esk colours! All I am doing is adding a little colouring to the white chocolate to give it more of a Mermaid feel {and maybe even a little flavour!} as I want to make Mermaid fudge

I gave this recipe a go by myself – no kids involved! {because I am a bit of a perfectionist!} however I am excited to start making more fudge with the kids. I think they’d make really nice gifts for Teachers at the end of term, or even your next-door neighbours as a nice treat! We have lovely neighbours were we live, so we’re very lucky. They may have a collection of fudgy gifts in their future!

What you’ll need to make this Mermaid Fudge recipe

Ingredients

1 tin of condensed milk

600g of white chocolate {chips or bar, the choice is yours!}

1 tsp of vanilla extract

Food colouring {for this fudge I used purple and baby blue}

Mermaid sprinkles

Flavouring {optional}

The ‘how-to’ part

Break up your white chocolate bars or pour in your white chocolate chips {your choice, remember!} to your slow cooker.

Add your condensed milk followed by your tsp of vanilla extract

Turn your slow cooker into the high settings, keep the lid off and leave to cook for 40 mins. Make sure to stir every 10 minutes.

When everything is nice and thick, pour into 2 bowls, add your food colouring and mix until well combined.

Pour both of your coloured mixtures into your greaseproof paper-lined baking tray in whatever fashion you like.

Add your sprinkles and pop into the fridge overnight.

Incredibly simple to make and I have to say – HOW PRETTY DOES IT LOOK! It’s cute, right? This will make the perfect addition to any party table. I’ve no doubt the kids would have loved it at Annabelle’s party – if I had more time to make it at the time! However, now? I think we will be making fudge more often as tasty treats and gifts.

This was my first attempt using this fudge recipe, so I’m not claiming it’s perfect. However, it was soft, creamy, not crumbly {which I understand is a good thing!}. So it was an all-round success! But I am looking forward to making more! Basically, because the kids scoffed this lot faster than I could drink a cup of tea! Do anyone else’s kids eat like termites? Like things are going out of fashion? They’re hilarious!

Are you a fudge fan? Would you give this simple fudge recipe a go? My lot are dying to make a batch of Easter fudge next! So watch this space!
