Five fun things to do during your visit to London

London is an amazing City. I, myself have had the pleasure to visit a few times both solo and with two of my children. We have seen sights such as Westminster Abbey, London Bridge, Carnaby Street, the National History Museum and so much more. London has so many amazing attractions and ‘must-see’ places that I thought I would share with you a few of my favourites. Of places, I have been lucky enough to visit myself and ones I hope to visit soon.  When you think of London, what do you immediately think of? The crazy busy tube stations? the iconic…

The pretty umbrellas of West Street

Social media can be a wonderful place. As I scrolled through my Facebook feed, over my morning cup of tea – like we all do I’m sure. I caught wind of a new addition to an old street which just so happened to be in one of my favourite towns, Carrickfergus.  West Street, if I’m honest, isn’t a street we have went down during our many visits to Carrick – and we’re there a lot! We always get off our train and head straight down through the North Gate, towards the castle. We spend our days at the amazing Pirate Marina…

5 reasons to visit Jamaica

I am pretty sure there are more than five reasons to visit Jamaica, but I think you’ll only need five. My first thought when I think of Jamaica is the bobsled team in Cool Runnings – just me? It’s one of my favourite movies and the characters are so fun & laid-back that they emanate everything Jamaica stands for. Which is beauty,  pride and reggae music!  Jamaica is an island in the middle of the Carribean seas and it’s one of those places that I personally, can only dream of visiting. It is an island where you can immerse yourself…

Looking forward to rediscovering me {in Cyprus!}

In May of this year, I will be jetting off to Cyprus with some friends & we’re not taking our kids. I cannot tell you how excited this trip makes me because I have declared it to be a week where I find myself again. Being a Mum and a wife are amazing, don’t get me wrong – but always tending to others can get tiresome.  Over the years I have managed to lose a lot of myself. A lot of who I used to be. I wasn’t always a stressed headed angry dragon {as the kids call me!}. I used…

Dreaming of a Summer holiday #SimpsonTravel

Going anywhere as a family is incredibly important to me. Being a Super Busy Mum {pun intended} with a super busy family we can often be like ships in the night. We get swept up by schooldays, homework, daily life commitments and then some. So when it comes to taking time out and spending some good old-fashioned quality time with my family – it’s something very dear to me. Usually, we do this by having movie nights and gaming afternoons – nothing beats some Pokemon monopoly or a round or two of Munchkin in our house. But going beyond those…

We’ve booked our 2018 Summer holiday! {Roll on July!}

I could not be more excited because I’ve just booked our 2018 Summer holiday! When we asked the kids where they would like to go on their next holiday it was a unanimous decision as they all yelled “SOMERSET” in unison. We had such an amazing time at the Haven resort in Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset in 2016 that I’d be lying if I wasn’t as equally as excited as the smalls to be going back too.   We cannot wait to revisit some of the places we travelled too and made such amazing memories at; such as the Animal Adventure Play…

In search of Giants with National Trust NI

A few weeks ago we were invited along to visit the historical basalt columns at the Giants Causeway, with National Trust NI. I have visited the Causeway myself a few times when I was younger – whether it was on a school trip or with family {as we had a caravan not very far from the causeway} but my Husband had never been.  Since we don’t drive, I was a little worried about how we were going to get there – as the only way I knew of getting to the Causeway was via those tour buses that we regularly…

An afternoon sightseeing in London

A few weeks ago my eldest girl and I went on another day trip to London. We were travelling over to attend an event with Bafta Kids & the Disney channel, for the amazing new show Milo Murphy’s Law {airing on April 3rd!}. But after the event we had some time to explore before our flight home, so we did just that. We had never been to the Piccadilly/Leicester Square part of London before, so it was quite exciting getting to do a bit of sightseeing. Getting to see China town, lots of really cool street performers and being in Leicester Square…

A day trip to Portrush #staycationchallenge

When my children’s school holidays are upon us I have to admit I get a little aaahh about it all. Day trips as a big family can be expensive! Even a simple trip to the cinema {with food after} can easily cost us £60; which is just insane. So, when Scottish Friendly got in touch, sharing a few easy ways to save money each month allowing us all more staycations, days out and cheap holidays through their Disposable Income Index. They went on to challenge us, as a family to have a fun day out on a budget, so, with…
