Exploring the Square Mile with the London Pass

A few weeks ago, I travelled over to London for a blog event {you can find all about that here & here}. The day I arrived I had zero plans, due to the event being the next morning – which meant I had almost a whole day to explore London.  I love a good explore around new places and even though I have been to London a few times, there is still so much of it I haven’t seen. So, during my spare-no-plans day in London, I teamed up with the lovely people at the London Pass to show &…

3 reasons to book an Airport Transfer

Organising travel plans, whether they be for yourself, the family or a group of friends – whatever way you travel, it can be stressful. I am one of those people who hasn’t even left for the airport and I am already thinking of how we’d get to our destination once we land. Usually, I would book a taxi, but when there are farther distances to travel between the airport & the place we’ll be staying – or even from the airport back home – airport transfer services are my new favourite thing.  Perhaps your ways of travel are a little…

Kites & Castles – Our first Kite Festival with National Trust NI

This summer has whizzed by, so much so that I feel as though we haven’t done as much as I had hoped – by this stage in the school summer holidays, anyway. But during a google search of fun days out with the family, I came across a Kite Festival with the National Trust. Perfect! And to make it even better, it is held at Downhill Demesne and Hezlett House, which is in our favourite place, Castlerock.  What did surprise me though, is that this year, 2018, will be the 8th year the Kite festival will be put on. It’s…

Spending the day at the Animal Farm Adventure Park in Somerset

During our recent family holiday to Somerset, we were given the opportunity to revisit the amazing Animal Farm Adventure Park in Berrow. It was a super hot day, but we were stocked up with sun cream, bottles of water and the kids couldn’t wait to explore. Being non-drivers, we took the bus which took us around 40mins to get too, however, if you’re in a car? It will take you about 15mins. The bus we got was available from our Haven holiday village in Burnham on Sea, but it goes along the promenade in Burnham and along the usual bus…

Family holidays at Haven, Burnham-on-sea

I can’t imagine a caravan is everyone’s cup of tea when it comes to your family holiday. But I have always loved them. Ever since I was little and my Granda owned his own, in Castlerock – so staying in a caravan has always held a certain amount of excitement for me.  Over the years, every family holiday we have ever gone on has been a caravan holiday. I sense a theme! We are drawn to them for a multitude of reasons. We love the self-catering holiday vibe, the range of facilities that are available on site, as well as fun…

Haven Activity Passes | Review

During our recent stay at the Haven Holiday village in Burnham-on-sea, we collaborated with Haven to review some of their prepaid activity passes. We have been on a few Haven holidays, but the activities were never really an option for us before because we either spent too much time outside of the holiday village. Or one or more of the children were too young to get involved – so we decided if they all couldn’t do them, then none of them would. However, during this recent Haven holiday, they could all get in on the action. The first activity we…
