Wild Pets Review

There has been one thing that my Jacob has asked me for time and time again and that’s a remote controlled tarantula. Lord knows why I think he’s trying to give me a heart attack! But nevertheless, when I was approached to review a Wild Pet, I figured this was closest he’d ever get!

We got sent out the Chiller Spider & on the box, they say that they feel & move like the real thing. This excited the kids and before I knew it the box was ripped open and he was switched on! I can’t say that I’ve ever had the guts to actually hold & feel an actual tarantula, nor do I think I ever will. But it feels pretty life like to me!

I didn’t expect the toddler to be a fan. But her being as fearless as she is, she was in love with him from his first steps. The kids all sat in a circle and watched the spider go through his different behaviours due to his touch sensors which are based on his very colourful abdomen.

The body is made of plastic and covered in the realistic fur, while the legs are made of rubber. So when they scuttle they really look like spiders legs! Eeew!

The spider has 3 modes which are creep mode, explore and attack mode. The creep mode allows him to move around freely in an enclosed space {this matches up with you being able to buy him a tank as an accessory}. The explore mode he literally explores his surroundings. He’ll scuttle around, stop, turn and carry on. Then the attack mode his eyes will go from green to red, he’ll pause for a moment before rushing forward. This is always met with screams from the kids. It’s lots of fun!

You have something on your head there Jacob!

acob absolutely loves his new 8 legged friends and with four freaky wild pets to collect, you can be sure he’s adding them to his Christmas list!
