My Top 5 Favourite Posts of 2021!

My Top 5 Favourite Posts of 2021!

And just that like…it is the final day of the year. It never fails to blow my mind, every single year, how quickly the days, weeks, months and even years are flying by. But here we are and I thought it would be nice to share my top 5 favourite blog posts that I shared throughout 2021. I am sure I would be able to pick more than five, but nobody has all day to read blog posts, right? I mulled over several cups of tea {with a few cheeky biscuits of course!} and whittled my favourites throughout 2021, down to five.

I am not one for numbers or stats and being the top-ranked page on Google. I just love being able to share things that I love, such as travel posts, free printables and even the odd recipe here and there. It has been undoubtedly a crazy year with lockdowns, homeschooling and restrictions coming out of our ears! And then finding time to blog on top of all of that, as well as being a full-time hospitality worker has been difficult. But I hope I have maintained it enough to keep you coming back to have a mooch and a read every now and again. And for that support? I am incredibly thankful.

My Top 5 Favourite Posts of 2021

One of my main aims for the new year is to ‘be organised’. Generally, I am a decently organised person. But life is busy! Therefore I seem to be the walking Filofax of the house! And there are a lot of people in our house to keep organised and on time for things. So, at the start of 2021, I created these free 12-month Calendar Templates. There are completely free for people to download, print & help to keep themselves organised.

This year, I made a promise to myself to try new things! Growing up, I always had food fear or food aversions, whatever you want to call them. Bottom line, I kept to a minimal amount of foods that I liked. And had a fear of trying anything new, ever! However, after realising that not everything needs to be made ‘by the book’, that it is perfectly OK to put your own spin on things, I did it! I tried something new. Now, this may sound incredibly lame to some people, but for me? It was a big deal!

Delicious Northern Irish Traybake Recipe

I hate cherries. I think they are vile. Just me? Anyway, I wanted to try the Northern Irish traybake, ‘the fifteen’, but hated cherries. So, I replaced the cherries with something I personally love and that is Mint Aero Bubbles. Absolute game changer! So for my second favourite posts, you must try this Mint Aero Fifteen Traybake Recipe and I promise you, if you are a fan of mint, you will adore these!

Family Adventures are our favourite!

As a family, we love to get out and about to different places. Nine times out of ten, we are going back to our favourite places, such as Castlerock or Portrush! Northern Ireland isn’t the biggest of places, so our choices are limited. Put getting around the country as non-drivers on top of that and, yeah! You get the gist!

However, one of our most favourite places is visiting the gorgeous Rathlin Island and here is everything you need to know when visiting! Every time we have taken the Rathlin Ferry over to this idyllic location, the sun has shone! It is truly a breathtaking place and I just adore taking the family over because even getting there is such an adventure in itself!

Reviewing places we have stayed is a love of mine. Purely because I know that nothing is better than word of mouth when recommending somewhere to stay. I am always 100% transparent with my reviews and if I do not like something, I will say! However one of our favourite accommodation reviews this year is Coolfin Cottage in Ballycastle.

This was not a paid collaboration, this was fully paid for by us and with everything going on with restrictions etc, this is just what we needed. The place was so amazing that we were all quite sad that we only booked it for one night. However, next time? We will be booking it for more because we had such a lovely, lovely time.

Coastal Walks & Lunches by Lighthouses!

As well as trying new foods throughout 2021, we did manage to get to a few new places. Even with restrictions in place! So we were very lucky and as always, we got amazing weather, which is something we always manage to be very lucky with! The BlackHead path in Whitehead is a stunning place for a walk! The kids and I really enjoyed it, even if it was a little too hot for our freckled Irish skin to handle!

Being able to walk around a pathway built into the side of a cliff was pretty spectacular. The views alone were stunning and the break at the lighthouse on the top was worth every step!

There were so many more posts that I would have loved to share with you guys, such as my free Blog planner to help you create badass content or even my DeadSweet Review from Tiktok!

So there you have it, my top 5 favourite posts throughout 2021. We kicked ass in whatever way we could throughout this year. Whether it was homeschooling, working overtime, losing someone we loved or crying in a corner because things got too much. Whatever way we handled it, we got through it and we should all be proud of that.

Here is to a happier, healthier 2022 and may we all make it amazing in whatever way possible. Happy New Year!!
