#LittleLoves; Back to school & preparing for a birthday

With the shift arrival of 2017, I bring my determined mind to get involved with lots of blog-related things. Things I joined in with last year but faded mid-way through the year. Bad me, I know! But that revelation aside here is my first #LittleLoves post of 2017! This week has seen my kids all go back to school {much to their dismay!} and the birthday preparations have begun for my littlest girl.

Having the children all back to school comes with mixed emotions. On one level I’m sad because I’ve loved having my team at home {the lie-ins were also appealing} and on the other hand, I’m so very happy. I’m a creature that requires routine and having the kids back to school gives me just that.

I’ve been able to reestablish my ‘back-to-blogging’ routine and the kids aren’t so narky because they’re each doing their own things during the day. Resulting in them all {mostly} getting along famously when they see each other in the afternoons.

As for birthday preparations, how am I even planning another birthday for my youngest child already? I mean, how is she even turning four! My mind cannot process that at all but my goodness, she hasn’t half grown up this past year! I’ll share all about her last year in her up and coming birthday post in a few weeks because her progress with everything speech delay related has been amazing.

I decided to go with a Finding Dory party theme this year because ever since she saw the movie, she’s been a huge fan. I will be sharing a post about everything I plan to make, bake or create for her party; coming to the blog very soon! So keep an eye out for that, especially if you too, have a Dory obsessed child.

However, here are my Little Loves for the last week;

READ: I got a framed print towards the end of 2016 and even though it’s in my girl’s bedroom, I just love it. “Never let anyone dull your sparkle” and I think that quote is just perfection.

WATCHED: Sherlock. Now, don’t stone me here but I have literally only started watching Sherlock on Netflix this past week. Why haven’t I watched it before? Who knows! In fact, I could actually slap myself silly for not because it is AMAZING! Do you watch it?

HEARD: Zoella’s ‘Singing in the car‘ playlist on her Spotify. I watch lots of youtube videos, everyone from Zoella, Mark Ferris, Alfie Deyes etc and on one of Zoella’s Vlogmas videos she shared a link to one of her Spotify playlists and I am just loving it at the moment. It’s not the usual music I would listen too, but since we’ve been slow living over Christmas, it’s been the perfect collection of tunes.

Zoella's spotify playlist

MADE: Nothing too exciting, well, it is but not {if that make’s sense!}. With the help of my latest review item, the smallest all-in-one home printer from HP {review coming to the blog soon!} I’ve been doing some party prepping. Basically printing out lots of Finding Dory colouring-in pages for Miss Belle’s party at the end of the month. Colouring in tables, especially for little preschoolers are always a winner.

WORE: This last week I pretty much lived in my Gryffindor dressing gown. In this house, we do geek! Also, another reason for living in my dressing gown is…I hit my head pretty hard on the attic ladders during the week resulting in me cradling a pretty nasty concussion. I’ve felt so bleurgh I cannot even tell you.

D xx

Love the quote you framed. The concussion does not sound good, but hope you’re on the mend now. Love the dressing gown!

It sounds like you’ve got some solid blogging resolutions for this new year – good luck with those! Hope you and the family have a lovely weekend!

Thanks so much! Thankfully the concussion has passed {I’m such an idiot!} and I hope you guys have an awesome weekend too! x

Oh no! I hope the dressing gown works its magic and your head feels much better soon! A Finding Dory part sounds wonderful, and I am in awe at the tinyness of that printer – the way technology evolves is staggering sometimes. Happy New Year/Back to School Week 🙂

    • 06/01/2017 / 10:14 AM

Oh, the dressing gown worked it’s magic indeed, thank you! The digital world is an amazing {and quite scary place} sometimes isn’t it! HNY to yourself and have a great weekend! x

I thought everybody had watched Sherlock! I’m glad you’ve started now though, it’s definitely great. It’s gone a bit downhill now compared to the start, but it’s still worth watching. That printer is SO small! We got a new one this week and it’s a beast compared to that. Also, love the idea of a Gryffindor dressing gown. Hope your head is better and you have a great weekend!

    • 06/01/2017 / 10:12 AM

Clearly {for Sherlock} I missed the memo! I am all caught up now and impatiently waiting for Sunday’s episode! It has gone a bit wayward, but I reckon this new series will perk is back up again.

OMG the printer is SO tiny – makes for the perfect desk addition because of its size. My heads all better too {thankfully!}, I hope you have a great weekend also! x

I’m a bit of a routine fan too and as lovely as it has been having everyone at home I’m looking forward to getting our normality back when hubby goes back to work next week. I’m missing my one on one time with my littles boy. Love the sparkly quote! xx #LittleLoves

    • 06/01/2017 / 12:54 PM

Oh routine is just nice to get back too, isn’t it! So much so I think it makes me {personally} appreciate our weekends together a bit more. xx

  5. 06/01/2017 / 12:30 PM

Oh I love love your dressing gown. We do geek in my house too! hahaha Glad we aren’t the only ones. We are back to school and routines which was so needed for us all I think. Still tired getting back to it but feels good. I am diving back into my blogging after taking my first week off in over three years from it. Felt good to refresh my batteries. I am hoping 2017 is better for me for it. Sounds like yours in starting off on track too my lovely. Happy New Year, popping over from #littleloves!

    • 06/01/2017 / 12:56 PM

I’ve been meaning to watch Sherlock all week I must get round to it this weekend, we were late to the party with this show and only started watching it last year. I’ve seen those printers advertised lately they look fab. Hope you are feeling a bit better now after your nasty bump. #LittleLoves

  8. 06/01/2017 / 8:04 PM

Oh no! Concussion? Hope you’re on the mend now. The colouring table at a party sounds fantastic, and something I would never have even thought about – ridiculous! I’ve also never watched Sherlock – maybe I’m missing something good here! Lots of people talking about it! Enjoy your weekend xx #LittleLoves

  9. 06/01/2017 / 8:55 PM

I love Sherlock but I probably would never have watched it if it wasn’t for my husband. Back to normal routine is good isn’t it? Love the sound of the party.

  10. 07/01/2017 / 3:59 PM

Ouch! Hope the head is better now. I haven’t seen Sherlock. Now it’s on Netflix I’ll have to give it a go as I can’t keep watching Gilmore Girls on repeat! Sounds like you had a lovely break over xmas and an equally lovely return to school (mine are still off until Monday so I’m beginning to crave the routine again). Have a great weekend!

    • 07/01/2017 / 4:41 PM

Definitely, do give Sherlock a watch! Thoroughly entertaining! I have never watched Gilmore Girls! haha! We did have a lovely Christmas, thank you! And the head is much better now too {thank you!}. Have a lovely weekend!

  12. 09/01/2017 / 11:22 AM

Love the print and the dressing gown, so up my street!

  13. 09/01/2017 / 9:19 PM

So good to have you back joining in with littleloves, Debs.
I like the sound of the Finding Dory party and look forward to seeing what you’ve come up with. It’s my youngest girl’s birthday this week but I’m not doing a theme party this year (we had unicorn everything last year).
Loving the dressing gown, though not the concussion obviously!
    Have a great week xx

    • 10/01/2017 / 10:58 AM

Thanks so much Morgana {& for hosting!}. Happy Birthday to your little girl! Sometimes not having a theme party is good for the soul. I only ever do them up until their 5th birthday then it’s all inflatables after that, lol. I hope you’ve had a lovely week too. xx

  14. 09/01/2017 / 9:32 PM

Fab dressing gown. I hope your head feels better.
I am party planning for my eldest for the end of the month too. She will be 7! Colouring is a fantastic idea!

    • 10/01/2017 / 10:55 AM

Thanks and my head’s all better now – yay! Wow, 7! I hope the party planning is going OK.
