L.O.L Surprise! DIY Glitter Factory Review

Kids know how to keep you on your toes, don’t they? Out of nowhere, my little Superhero loving daughter has fallen for the L.O.L Surprise! Dolls. Annabelle rarely plays with dolls but for some reason, these little collectables have captured her heart. So, when she was sent the L.O.L Surprise! DIY Glitter Factory to review she could not have been happier. Perfect timing over the Easter holidays, too!
This DIY glitter factory playset allows you to give your L.O.L dolls a glittery {& fuzzy} makeover. Annabelle is obsessed with rares and ‘ultra rares’ when it comes to collectables. So knowing she can make her own unique and ultra-rare L.O.L doll collection really appealed to her.
One of the best bits, for Annabelle, with this playset was the box of blind bags! I don’t know what it is with kids and blind bags but they love them, don’t they? She really enjoyed seeing what was inside each bag and seeing the collection of accessories grow.
The set includes;
- 1 x DIY Glitter Factory
- 4 x pots of fuzz {of different colours}
- 2 x sticks of glue
- 5 x face masks
- 1 x pair of shoes
- 4 x Glitter pots {of different colours}
- A bottle
- An accessory item
- 1 x Mannequin
- 4 x brushes
- 1 x Exclusive L.O.L Surprise! Doll
Setting up the Glitter factory was very straight forward {which is a winning point from me!}. Within minutes Annabelle was customising her L.O.L doll. To customise your doll, place her into the middle of the holder, add glue to where you’d like to customise, add glitter {or fuzz – using the right glue when you do}. Place her into the dome, spin and voila!
This L.O.L Surprise! DIY Glitter Factory is for ages 6yrs and up. Annabelle is 6yrs old but I wouldn’t let her play with this unsupervised. Maybe that’s just me! She wasn’t overly keen on having to wait for 2hrs to let each section that she customised, to dry. So she didn’t!
Our overall thoughts?
Overall, Annabelle really enjoyed customising her own L.O.L dolls and she sat for a good hour and a half designing them. She was all played out by the time she had finished, so she didn’t mind having to leave everything to dry for 2hrs before being able to play with them. In all honesty, I think she was more excited by the thought of being able to wash them to redesign them again! Which is a fun feature!
The only thing I have to say is, it’s a shame that they don’t come out like you’re lead to believe they will online. But I think this is the case with a lot of things. When asked, she said she didn’t mind because her ‘Ultra-rare’ L.O.L doll came out just like she wanted. Regardless of my own thoughts, Annabelle had lots of fun designing her own L.O.L Surprise! Dolls regardless. Also, mess-wise? It was minimal – which is another bonus!

Disclosure: We were sent this L.O.L Surprise! DIY Glitter Factory to review. All thoughts, photos & opinions are my own.
I think that most toys don’t behave like we are led to believe. Glad she enjoyed creating them, my friends daughter would love these
It is good fun and as I said in the review, surprisingly unmessy – which was a bonus point!
