Restyling our Living room with Desenio | Review

Our living room, through the years of raising children and general day to day madness, has fallen into a rut. We have the same old corner sofa, with the same old cushions. Curtains hanging above our window that are long overdue a change and the same old colour on the walls. OK, confession? I like the colour of our living room – it has quite a contemporary feel. At least I think that’s the look because my interior design capabilities aren’t great. I’m more of a wing-it-all-together-and-hope-it-fits sort of gal. However, I have collaborated with Desenio, one of my favourite framed print brands to help me restyle our living room. Sometimes making the smallest and simplest changes can make all the difference.

A few years ago, we made a gallery on our living room wall. It was quirky, a little different {a previous Desenio collaboration} and even though I still loved it – it needed a revamp. You’d be surprised what changing up prints or photos in a frame can do for the feel of a room.

The biggest print I chose was the Good Vibes print, which I could not love more if I tried. This print gave me a good basis for other colours I planned to incorporate alongside it. This print has a really cool vibe too it, with the neon style pink lettering and light grey speckled style background. It was the perfect centrepiece for the gallery wall.

In an attempt to match up the pink lettering, I added two delicate floral images that both have a touch of pink on them – which I love. I’m not the biggest pink fan, but I felt as though these worked really well. Also, if you’ve ever looked on the Desenio website, you’ll know they have an extensive botanical print range. So I decided to pick out a few to add to my obsession with filling our home with plants {articifical please!} and these prints work really well with adding more greenery into our home.

So, with the gallery wall complete, on the opposite side of the living room, we have a little nook. Its the home of my much-loved cream tub chair which sits nicely with the dark grey & white whisper coloured walls. I recently purchased a cute little artificial green hanging plant and the wall behind it has bugged me for ages – so I felt as though this was the perfect space for some prints to hang up, too.

I decided to keep in theme with our previous quirky prints and as soon as I saw the Panda blowing bubblegum print – I was in love. Isn’t he glorious? I think the baby blue goes really nicely with the colours and his pink bubblegum bubble! Above that, I chose another delicate floral print to match the floral prints on the main gallery wall and I think they work really nicely together. I think I now just need a new cushion for my chair and that corner will be fully revamped. Any tips on what colour cushion I should go with? I need all the advice!

Finally, as you enter our living room, there was another space on the left that screamed out for something fabulous. I decided to hang another botanical print of a different style to the ones on the main gallery wall and thus my revamp is complete.

I love it and I cannot believe how changing a few prints made such a difference. The feel of the room has changed and now I cannot wait to adjust the rest of it. Adding a few more artificial plants, maybe even some dusty pink cushions and who knows, those curtains may finally get changed too!
