Free tracing sheets {perfect for preschoolers!} to help with handwriting!

It has been quite some time since I shared any printable’s on the blog. The last tracing sheets I created where my Winter tracing worksheets – so it’s about time I created another batch.
These tracing sheets were a big help for my own daughter when she was developing her penmanship skills. These worksheets are fun and perfect for children aged 3 yrs+. They’re perfect for children going into preschool are even in the early Primary school years.
Tracing is more important than you think. It can help your child develop their fine motor skills which are essential when it comes to learning how to write. Through tracing lines, our children can also improve hand/eye coordination, spatial awareness and dexterity. So, what may look like an innocent tracing sheet, is actually quite educational.
I started my daughter off {age 3.5 yrs} with tracing wiggly lines, zigzags and overtime and worked her up to tracing the letters of her name. All in preparation for her knowing how to spell and write her name before going into Primary One.ย
She is now in Primary three and I’ll be honest, her writing still isn’t great. Nine times out of ten this all comes down to her mood! But even now, at the age of seven, I still think these are heavily useful for her penmanship skills. Those curly tracing lines will be a great help when she has to progress her cursive writing skills. So no matter the age, I personally think tracing lines of all shapes, sizes and designs are a huge help to our child’s writing skills and fine motor skill development.ย
I have designed a few new tracing sheets for your child to enjoy. They are completely free to download from the blog and I really hope you enjoy them as much as I did in creating them.ย

I really hope your child enjoys these. Since the ‘new normal’ of homeschooling, our children was a thing – I’ve seen countless Mums asking what they can do for their nursery school children and preschoolers.
Obviously, that got me thinking and I guess creating some new content just for them seemed like the right thing to do. So, I really do hope they help. As I’ve mentioned previously in this post, learning those penmanship skills is so, so essential.
As soon as they have the curvy and straight lines sussed, then they can move onto tracing numbers and even tracing their name. From that point, they are winning and they’re so ready to take on their Primary school adventure!ย
