Free Elf on the Shelf Calendar Printable

I know it’s only Autumn, but we cannot deny that Christmas is just a stone’s throw away. I have so many things I would like to have done before December 1st {my house is driving me crazy!}. However aside from the house drama, I’d like to also be prepared for the arrival of Tinsel Evergreen & Holly Mistletoe, our Family Scout Elves. Which is why, in this post, I am sharing with your my new Elf on the Shelf calendar printable in this post.

Every year I say to myself “I must make myself a calendar” and in typical Super Busy Mum fashion {see what I did there?} I never do. But this year, I have {finally} made one and I am feeling nothing short of victorious and hugely organised.

I even have a little box in my bedroom {sssh} of all the little bits and pieces I will need for our Elf on the Shelf adventures, mischief and antics. The Elf on the Shelf Calendar printable will be available for download at the bottom of this post.

But first things first – would you like to have an idea of what I am planning for this year’s Elf antics?

My Elf on the Shelf plans for this Christmas

First of all, on the morning of December 1st, I always lay out a little treasure hunt to find the elves. This always goes down a treat. Then for the next few weeks, Tinsel and Holly get up to all kinds of mischief and fun. Whether they sprinkle the Christmas tree with the kid’s underwear or having target practice in the kitchen with the ketchup! They’ve also been known to zip line across the living room and put googly eyes on all the fruit in the house!

Needless to say it’s a lot of fun, but as the parent? It’s also a lot of work! But this year? I aim to be super-duper organised and have everything ready to go. So my first piece of advice to you? If this is your first Elf on the Shelf year? Get yourself a wee box for all of the things you’ll need for your elf antics. This could be a sledge, candy canes for a scavenger hunt, little elf costumes and so much more.

For this post, I have not only created a blank Elf on the Shelf calendar for you to add your ideas into. If that’s how you like to roll. But I have also shared my Elf on the Shelf idea calendar for 2020. We have been doing this Christmas tradition since 2014 & I do try to change the elf antics every year. Due to doing this for so long now, it’s not easy trying to come up with and find new ideas. But this year? It’s a whole new year for us, elf wise. Some antics haven’t been done in a few years and some will be our first time doing them.

My own personal Elf Ideas Calendar for 2020

So, just to give you an idea of how I plan to prepare for our elves arrival. I will share with you in more detail my Elf on the Shelf plans. What accessories and things I will need to make it all come together, as stress-free as possible!

What you’ll need for the Elf this December {if following my calendar!}

This is just a list of bits and bobs you will need if you decide to follow my calendar that I have shared above. Nothing will be too tricky to put together and will take minutes each evening! Also, top tip? Set an alarm on your phone to move the elf! The number of times I myself have forgotten to move it, have got comfortable in bed, then remembered? Shocking!

This one is super simple. You can find a cute Elf Arrival Letter printable to download on my blog. Some people like to have the elf/elves arrive with a North Pole Breakfast, or in some other fashion. I do mine with our Magic Elf Door, with the arrival letter and a little treasure hunt to find them.
This is a new antic for us to do and you will need a bunch of apples. How many you use is up to yourself. I am aiming for eight. You’ll need googly eyes for the face of the caterpillar too. You will also need a stick, a small piece of string and a small bunch of broccoli. Put your apples in a row, set your elf on top holding the stick and string dangling the broccoli in front of the caterpillar.
All you will need for this one is your elf, a ketchup bottle and this Elf Target Practice Printable. Simply squirt some ketchup on the target, and place your elf on top of it.
I love this one and cannot wait to do it. My teenager has a load of mini rubber ducks which are perfect for this. So, you’ll need rubber ducks and some bread. Just place your elf on the side of the bath, the ducks in the water and a round of bread on his lap.
You’ll need to be super sneaky for this one. Get a photo of the elf and your child as they are sleeping. It will surprise them in the morning!
Collect any tins once they’ve been used and make yourself a drum kit.
For this antic, you’ll need a slow cooker or just a pot. You will also need cotton balls, toilet paper, string & mini pegs. Place the elf or elves into the cotton ball filled slow cooker {or pot}, wrap toilet roll around their head like us girls do after a bath! Finally, hang up their clothes on pegs above or next to them.
Super simple antic, all you need is a deep bowl and some pom poms. You can also make a small sign to say “Ball Pit! Elves only!”
For this one, you will need some string, grapes in a fruit bowl and a candy cane. Just hang the elf upside down, above the fruit bowl and hook the grapes with the candy cane.
A funny antic of one elf taping the other to the wall. You’ll need washy tape or froggy tape. Whichever you prefer. Just use something that won’t damage the surface your taping the elf too!
Simply wrap up everything in your child’s lunchbox. And I mean everything! Apples and all!
Eat your way through a tub of Pringles, cut out the face of Mr Pringle. Then replace it with the Elf’s face peeking through.
You’ll need a box of candy canes, just hide them about the house, print off a Scavenger hunt printable and you are set.
Get an empty laundry basket, print off this Give to get printable and this one is done.
You will need this small Pin the Nose of Rudolph printable, with mini red dots! Or if you can find small red circular stickers? The choice is yours! Just blindfold the elf and you can go to bed!
Make sure to have a dozen eggs in the house and a sharpie pen for this one.
Get out your hot glue gun, place 4 candy canes side by side and glue them together. Tie the elf on it and glue dot it to the bannister. Or simply tie it with string.
You will need a packet of chocolate chips for this one. Just pour them into a bowl, with the elf sitting beside them. Don’t forget about your “Free Reindeer Poop” sign.
Print off this Elf Photo Shoot Accessories printable and just get a few dolls. Set it up like a photo booth! Simples!
Grab yourself a bunch of Lego people, tape the elf on the wall as if he’s being attacked by Lego characters. They’re sick of his antics!
Get your cardboard box and create a secret clubhouse. No humans allowed sign {except ‘enter your child name’} Super cute idea.
Hang up the elf clothes as if he/she is doing their laundry. Super simple.
Build two lego walls, as high as you like. The elf on one side, an action toy on the other. Marshmallow ‘snowball’ fight!
Layout the table as your North Pole Breakfast and leave your goodbye letter.

I will have these all in a box, minus the ketchup and eggs you understand! But everything else will be ready to go. I will have all of the printables I will need – so all that needs to be done is a quick 5-minute set-up, grab a photo for my Instagram stories and the jobs done.
