My first day of school free printables

Straight up, this is something I wish I did with my gang. I have done something similar, sort of, with baby numero five! However, this free printable that I am soon to share is far better and such an adorable keepsake! So, for any of you parents out there who have little ones starting nursery school, preschool or even Primary school this September, this is the free first day of school printable for you!

The first day of school or even going back to school is always an exciting thing. We all take those first days of school photos and then place them alongside the last day of school photos. And this process just rinses and repeats year after year. I get it. I am a mother of five and I do it too. However, the one thing I started doing with Annabelle was a little display of her favourite things and year after year they have changed. Of course, they changed! But it’s just nice to see that evolve, you know? Seeing their likes, dislikes and wishes all evolve year after year. So, with this printable, I decided to level up that little display poster I have done for Annabelle into a little first day of … preschool, Primary one, two and so on, interview.

This way you can document everything from their favourite food, teddy, song, place to visit and so on and I have even added a section where you can add their photo, too. Why not make a folder to give them all a home. That way, just like a little photo album, you can have their entire school documented and easy to look over year after year.

Northern Ireland & UK Mainland versions available

Living in Northern Ireland, we call our school years Primary 1, 2, 3 and so on. On the mainland, I understand they are called Reception, Year 1, 2, 3 etc. So, I quickly rustled up a selection of those too! Available to download at the bottom of this post.

These are super simple, really cute and a real statement piece when it’s time to take your child’s first day of school photo. The image below is just a peek at what they look like and they are available to download and print for free at the bottom of this post. They will print out in A4 and I think they’ll look adorable as your child stands there smiling from ear to ear.
