Autumn/Winter adventures with Goretex

Goretex graphicBack in the Summer I was given the amazing news that I was one of the chosen #BigDAYS Family Goretex Ambassadors. GORE-TEX has always been a brand that I have loved and you can read my Spring/Summer adventures with GORE-TEX if you’d like to see what we thought of our Summer footwear. You can also find my Seasonal adventures with GORE-TEX post on the blog to see after a few months of play and adventures, how the footwear handled it all.

Now we are into the harsher months of the year and I don’t know about you guys, but here in Northern Ireland, Winter has certainly moved in. Winter has always been a very harsh time of year where we live, lots of rain, snow {usually from January onwards} and I can do nothing but worry about the feet of my children during their school run. So when GORE-TEX kindly sent them out their Autumn/Winter footwear, they went down an absolute storm.
Goretex footwearSo where would we go for our first Autumn adventure wearing their new and snazzy footwear? Well, with a poorly toddler underfoot and very unpredictable weather we decided to keep things a little closer to home and to go and kick some leaves in a nearby walkway.
childrens goretex footwear goretex review footwear goretex reviewUsually when I take the children out in new footwear I am always anxious about them being careful where they walk. Stay out of puddles, make sure you don’t walk in that mud, that sort of thing. But I didn’t need to feel those emotions with GORE-TEX, I never do, as they really do not disappoint.
DSC_3825Water just rolls off them and the kids feel particularly naughty being able to walk through {and the odd sneaky jump} puddles wearing shoes rather than welly boots. All the while I was completely secure in the fact their little feet would stay warm and dry.
DSC_3824One thing I loved about this set of footwear was the lack of shoe laces that required tying. God bless the lace bungee! As a parent, I cannot tell you how much easier having the lace bungees are. The toddler can now put on her own shoes without Mummy’s help, so watching her confidence grow with being able to do that is pretty amazing. Also, there is no risk of tripping up on loose laces either. Always a bonus!
DSC_3823We absolutely love this Seasons GORE-TEX footwear, from the style of footwear {I had no idea Adidas made gore-tex footwear!}, the colours, durability and more. They get a massive #BigDAYS thumbs up from us!

Disclosure: As a GORE-TEX Family Ambassador I was sent these products for the purpose of my review. All thoughts, photos and opinions are my own.

These look super comfy and versatile.

I love the Adidas trainers, very cool. Normally I’d imagine Goretex to be associated with old mans walking boots so its good to see they appeal to the whole family! x #mmwbh

I have always loved GORE-TEX as a brand. We spend a lot of time outside, and having a highly strung dog have to get out in all weathers for a long walk every day. These boots looks great – I also have a highly strung 8yr old girl who doesn’t have the same views as me on sensible footwear – I’m sure she could be persuaded by these!

I love the purples ones on your wee one! It’s great finding a brand that is both practical and useful for those harsh winter months, isn’t it? It’s been a warm autumn here in the states with temperatures more spring and summerlike rather than winterlike. I’m hoping to get a bit of your weather soon. Thanks for sharing this with us, Debs and for hosting us on #mmwbh! Have a great rest of your week!

my daughter loves jumping in muddle puddles. Another reason to dislike Peppa Pig

Never heard of these but they look like exactly the kind of practical winter footwear I’d like for the girls. They’re cute too! #MMWBH

Great, practical footwear for winter. I’ll see if there’s a stockist locally provided the Tubblet likes them. (She’s fussy about shoes!)

These look great – can imagine how good the lace bungees are! #MMWBH
