When Mom Needs To Rest: 7 Ways to Recoup Strength

Being a mother is work, everyone knows about it, so fatigue and apathy can often snap at heels.
In the daily pursuit of a clean house, endless cooking for the whole family and babysitting, a mother can lose herself. And there’s nothing to do with character, even a calm mother or an energetic and cheerful one needs the recharge. Therefore, it’s very important to learn how to organize your own rest from routine stuff. Fortunately for moms, there are many ways to recuperate and relax.
#1. Relax
Of course, it is ideal to leave the child for a couple of hours with the husband or parents and go to the spa center. It’s even better to go to a spa in another country, say Thailand or Emirates, where massages are considered the best. But while dreams of an exotic spa remain dreams, there is a way out.
Even a hot, fragrant bath, a contrast shower, your favorite music on headphones will help unload your brain from everyday life and children, maybe jogging around the neighborhood will help in your case. Fill with calmness and energy that you spent all day, get inspired.
#2. Change habits
If you are used to going to bed well after midnight, constantly snacking, your unhealthy habits eventually affect your well-being: you get tired faster, think badly in the morning. Lack of sleep slowly leads to depression, circles under the eyes and a swollen face in the mirror don’t add color to life. Try to go in for sports, at least 20-30 minutes of fitness a day will give you energy, and the body will say thank you for your efforts. Besides, children are not a hindrance here at all, they will happily repeat after their mother, and in some cases, they can be used as body weights.
You should also think about healthy nutrition, eat more vegetables, drink more water, eat less sweets and McDonald’s. If possible, sign up for a gym, and if at the beginning you are reluctant to go there, because the body is not used to stress, after two weeks you will notice what kind of energy boost the body receives.

#3. Try beauty transformation
Mom in dirty and rumpled pajamas, faded and stretched T-shirt, with a bun on her head – try to avoid such an image. It’s amazing how a woman’s mood changes when she puts on a mask, light makeup, and wears clean, beautiful feminine clothes at home. You don’t need a lot of time and money to restore beauty, but strength will increase, and how nice it will be to receive a compliment from your husband or children.
Find time for yourself between chores, transform, otherwise life will pass, and the children will remember their mother tired, in a greasy dressing gown with dirty hair.
#4. Let go of perfectionism
A difficult item for a mother who cannot imagine her day without wet cleaning, preparing ten gourmet dishes for each family member, developing games with her child and ironing bed linen. Get rid of this habit at least while the children are small, because in fact you should understand that this is not what the family needs: an ideal order and a mother lying flaked-out. People need people.
#5. Go to psychologist
If life, relationships with your husband/children/relatives drive you crazy and you feel that you have begun to break down, any word spoken to you causes tears, you definitely need an interlocutor. It’s good if it’s a close person (friend, mother) who just listens, allows you to cry without judging, but if there is no such person among relatives and friends, there is no reason to postpone a visit to a psychologist.

Try to restore emotional balance. Unfortunately, in the minds of many women, the word “psychologist” is for some reason associated with mental disorders and other labels that society hangs on mothers. But in reality it’s not shameful.
#6. Delegate
Learn to accept help and ask for it. If possible, contact the apartment cleaning services, so you will save a lot of time and effort. If your mother comes, you can ask her to cook something, and go for a walk with the stroller herself. Of course, we want to be seen as strong women, that we can do everything, but it’s a pure trap.
#7. Don’t forget about friends
It often happens that after becoming a mother, a woman cuts ties with friends, because there are no more common topics. Going out with friends without receiving guests at home, with double cleaning and cooking, namely going out to neutral territory, to the cinema, to a cafe will dilute mom’s everyday life. In the end, you can always find new friends in apps for moms and get out with them on joint walks. Be open to communication.
