Walking the narrow cobble streets of Palma Old Town, Mallorca
We recently visited the gorgeous resort city of Palma. Which is also the capital of Mallorca, did you know that? I didn’t. Just proves, that every day is a school day, right? We had some of the most gorgeous Spanish weather and got to see some absolutely gorgeous sights. Including the Santa Maria Cathedral which is from the 13th century & overlooks the Bay of Palma. The whole island is filled with beautiful things to see, but Palma ‘Old Town’ was our favourite.
This is just a photo dump post really because the beauty of this place, which can be seen in the photos, really speak for themselves. There is so much to see and do and every time we walked down another alleyway, we saw so much more! There are so many cute shops that sell bracelets and Mallorca related touristy-bits i.e. magnets, bags, purses galore! And as well as the shops, there are lots of fabulous places to source out to eat and drink.
We ate in La Siesta, which was a restaurant that seated you outside in the sunshine, and it was glorious. The staff were amazing, so attentive and they were great with my daughter. Highly recommend eating there because the food and service were top notch!
You must source out this crazy old tree in Palma Old Town, it is so warped and creepy looking. Which obviously, I love because that’s my vibe. But seriously, it looks like skulls are warped around the trunk. Check out a closer look below and I’d love to know what you see in the comments below!
Around the cathedral is absolutely stunning and you can get your name written in images by an amazing artist, right on the cathedral walk. For the one my daughter is showing above, it cost 6 euros, because her name was so long. If you have a shorter name, at the time we went, it would cost you 3 euros. There is also options for framing too. But watching this being done was an experience in itself. The guy was so talented.
Photo dump completed of our travels to Palma Old Town and honestly? We cannot wait to go back! While there, we stayed in the Catalonia Mallorca hotel and we have a hotel review on the blog if you wished to read it. A lovely hotel and we both really enjoyed our time there and it was only a 5min drive to Palma Old Town. We did lots more whilst visiting Palma de Mallorca, which I will share in another post. We did a Hop on, Hop off bus tour, which was a lot of fun and also visited the Palma Aquarium for a Shark boat experience. So stay tuned for those posts, hopefully coming soon, because, life is lif-ing the crap out of me lately!
