A Review of our stay at the Catalonia Majórica Hotel in Palma De Mallorca

This year, my youngest and I flew off to Palma de Mallorca for 3 days. And the hotel I found for us to stay in was the Catalonia Majórica hotel, just a 5 minute drive from Old Palma town. The hotel itself, is off the main road and up a few winding streets, but it was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable.
First impressions were good, as the reception staff were lovely and spoke quite good English. Which, as someone who does not speak a lick of Spanish, was very much appreciated. Checking in to the Catalonia Majórica hotel was easy and before we knew it, we had the key card to our room and off we went to get settled in.
Our Accommodation
In my original booking, a sea view was requested and even though it wasn’t a head on sea view, we still had one, which was lovely. Annabelle dove straight for the comfortable beds, which were two double beds pushed together. Secondly, she spied the mini fridge {which was not complimentary} and checked that out, as I walked out onto our balcony, which had a side view of the sea. It was a small, but beautiful room and was perfect for our three day trip away.

The balcony we had in our room was absolutely perfect. With the heat of Palma de Mallorca, the comfortable seating and the ability to watch the sunset and the sunrise? What more do you need, lets be honest!

Facilities of the Catalonia Majorca Hotel
The hotel was quite big, with both indoor and outdoor pools, as well as indoor and outdoor seating for the bar & restaurant. And the views were just spectacular.

The outside bar & restaurant has a cool outside area to order from, so you don’t have to go inside every time you need another drink from the bar. As for the food, we sampled the pizza and chips and they tasted great. Decent quality food, great waiting staff as well. To the point they brought Annabelle a little tub of sweets as a treat.
The inhouse breakfast restaurant is very spacious and downstairs in the hotel, which was very different. But due to the positioning of the hotel on the hill, the views from the breakfast restaurant were beautiful. We sat, eating croissants with Nutella and fruit, watching the sunrise over the sea, lined with yachts and ships galore. It was absolutely perfect.

The Catalonia Majórica Hotel also hosts a fitness centre, free Wi-Fi, balconies on rooms, sea view rooms, bar, restaurant, parking, family rooms and even room service options.
How were the staff?
From the moment we arrived, to the moment we said goodbye, the staff were lovely. Really accommodating and helpful with local attractions to recommend and transport options/times etc. From the front office, breakfast, bar and restaurant staff, they are all really nice and made us feel welcome. Coming from a hospitality background, having great hotel staff makes all the difference and really adds to your overall hotel experience.
Thoughts on Housekeeping?
As a hotel manager myself, I know one of the key things people look out for is the cleanliness of the hotel and your bedroom. This hotel was very clean and everyday, our beds got turned down and fresh towels replaced. The even went the extra mile and placed Annabelles teddy very sweetly on her side of the bed, too. So, five stars to the housekeeping staff because doing stayovers {daily} in a hotel, is no easy feat!

Overall thoughts of the Catalonia Majórica hotel?
A gorgeous Catalonia Majórica hotel, tucked away in the hills of Palma De Mallorca, nearby to shops, restaurants, takeaways, bus stops and more. It is in a beautiful area of Palma, just 5 mins drive away from Palma Old Town and we highly recommend. The food overall, was delicious. In both the bar restaurant and breakfast, everything was enjoyed and we had a fabulous time. We would definitely go back again some day!
