Tube Heroes: Captain Sparklez Review!

My two middle children are Minecraft mental, and those words could actually be put into the ‘understatement’ box. So let’s just say they’re BIG fans. Minecraft has taken the world by storm and I actually love how my children love it because it’s turned into more than just a game. It’s so much more than building houses and digging mine shafts, killing creepers and enchanting items. It’s teaching our children about minerals, elements, 3D construction and more. I personally love the game too and rather proud of my carved out mountain made into one hell of a sexy mountain retreat!

However! With my children’s love of Minecraft, their love of watching youtube videos about Minecraft has also become on of their things. It’s actually a daily thing and their favourite ‘YouTuber’ is none other than DanTDM from the Diamond Minecart.
So, when I was asked to review Tube Heroes I’ll have, to be honest, I didn’t click that they were actual figures & plushes of influential YouTubers! It took a very excited daughter to come into me {practically busting at the seams} telling me that these guys where actually toys of her favourite YouTubers {and I quote} because “Look, Mum, DanTDM is on the front!”. How amazing is that! It all made SO much sense now that I knew these fun products where of my children’s favourite YouTubers. I also think a part of me feared for my bank account as I just knew they’d all be going on their Christmas wish lists too!!

In this box, however, the kids were surprised with a Captain Sparklez figure pack containing his trusty pet slime {which is all kinds of cute!} and weapons for creeper battle. They also received the Captain Sparklez plush and a pretty cool giant version of the slime sword. I asked Ellie if she’d ever watched Captain Sparklez and she said no but she had heard of him & plans to watch him more. {Just between you & me, DanTDM is her ultimate youtube!}.

These figures are super cool, exactly like you see them on screen and seriously…how adorable is his pet slime, Jerry!

The cuteness is almost too much!

The fun 2.75″ figure is posable, the paint work is great and his glasses can even be taken off too. I personally think that’s a cool feature. He also comes with his mythical slime sword, shield & pet slime buddy, Jerry.

Another thing that my 10yr old really liked about the figure was the knee bending ability they come with. She’s so used to lego pieces and little lego guys that this was never really achievable. It may sound like a small thing to be excited about, but I’m inclined to agree with her.

The 7″Captain Sparklez plush is a fun addition! The kids loved how he looked ‘blocky’ {their words} and my Jacob even liked how soft it was.

A lifesize version of the slime sword was a big hit too. I mean, what 7yr old boy wouldn’t want a super cool slime sword to hand to defeat evil! A little fun fact, though, remember Jerry the pet slime? Well, Jerry just so happens to have a super power which allows him to morph into any shape he wants {hello! Shape shifting slime!}. So he can transform himself into Captain Sparklez 24″ mythical Slime Sword! Cool huh!

Oh no! My son is 8 years old and is obsessed with Minecraft YouTubers! I had no idea these guys had their own actions figures and plushes. Guess I know what to get him for Christmas! Thanks for sharing this. I don’t think my son knows about this. It will be a great surprise. Of course, odds are he does know and hasn’t told me yet (which would be a big shocker). thanks for sharing!
