Throwing a dinner party with Homebase

I’m going, to be honest, I’ve never thrown a dinner party before even though I’ve always wanted too. So when Homebase kindly sent me out some vouchers to spend in store on whatever I could possibly need to host a dinner party, I decided to give it a go.

Going into my local Homebase store in Newtownabbey felt pretty exciting for a few reasons. I’d never shopped in their before and I really loved browsing through their gorgeous products.

With never having thrown a dinner party before, I wasn’t too sure what to get so I thought I would start at the beginning, preparing the table.

I decided to go with a white & red theme, so I picked up this simple white tablecloth & faux leather red dinner placemats set & faux leather red coaster set to match. My next requirement was cutlery so I found this classy bamboo band cutlery set & then I went on to choose this stylish white porcelain square dinner set, followed up with a clip top Kilner 1L bottle to contain some chilled water throughout our meal. There is something about square plates that make you feel a bit fancy! Just me?

After choosing my tableware I thought, every dinner party table needs some candlelight, right? So I picked up this clear hurricane lamp to put in the centre of my table.

Now to find something to serve my food in for my dinner party guests. I saw these gorgeous pyrex cook/serve dishes and I knew I was onto something. I picked up the roaster dish, also the square roaster and the divider dish, all from the Pyrex Red Impressions range.

With everything sorted for my table and for serving, I now needed to pick up something to help me cook with. I chose two great Tefal products, the Tefal Specifics square grill pan and the Tefal Just pan 18cm to help me out in the kitchen. All that was left for me to do was to rustle up some dinner and serve it up to my dinner guests, namely, my gorgeous family.

These dishes, especially the pyrex dishes from the red impressions range make serving food so much easier. The kids also think being able to serve themselves is pretty awesome too.

I also managed to pick up some pretty wine glasses and a gorgeous set of Saatchi mugs for tea & coffee for afterwards {and maybe a slice of homemade cake!}.

Disclosure: Homebase provided me with the vouchers to get what I needed for this review post. All thoughts, photos and opinions are my own.
