Things I loved in September | 2017

This is quite a new post for me, I’m not usually one to share a ‘things I’ve been loving’ post – but I got the idea from another blogger and I thought it might actually be a nice thing to share with you guys. Here’s hoping!

September has been quite a hectic month for us, and I’m sure for all of you too considering the whole Back to School thing going on and getting back into some form of normality after the Summer. So the first thing I’ve been loving in September isn’t exactly a product as such, but something I’ve not had in a long, long time…

Little moments

Celebrating our 1st Wedding Anniversary! On September 1st saw my Husband & I celebrate our first year as Husband & wife. The hubby smashed it with an amazing paper gift, a cheeky dinner date, few drinks in a super cute pub and a surprise hotel for the night. The man did good! Apparently, it’s up to me to sort out next years – Challenge accepted!

A little time to myself in the mornings – It’s such a simple thing and also quite a rare thing for me personally. But ever since Annabelle started school I have had a few hours to myself in the mornings and it’s been really lovely establishing my own little routine. I mean, just being able to actually eat some breakfast with a hot {rather than cold} cup of tea {I mean, is there anything worse?} is amazing in itself.

Beauty Bits

Zoella Blissful Mistful body mist I saw this on one of Zoella’s recent Lifestyle videos on her YouTube channel and her products are always so lovely – so when I spotted it in my local Superdrug, I picked it up without hesitation. It’s something I use every single day, it smells amazing and I think it was only #8 for the bottle. I’m no scent connoisseur but {in my opinion} it’s a really light and floral fragrance which I just love.

Vitamin C face mist from The Body Shop is another product that I have been loving this month. I recently went to a lovely Blogger event at our local Body Shop in Belfast and this was one of the products that I could not leave without buying. It’s aimed at dull, tired & grumpy skin which is a category that I fall into without a doubt and I have found that it does give my tired skin a little kick and it smells amazing!

Out & about

Tesco Taste Festival was an event we went to recently – did you go yourself? It was insanely busy {which was exciitng} and the kids were really happy to be surrounded by so much delicious food & drink. We were actually on a mission from Tesco, equipped with our food & drink passport – our mission? To eat & drink our way around Northern Ireland. A pretty exciting challenge I’m sure you’ll agree.

Botanic Gardens Autumn Fair was another afternoon that we enjoyed this month. It poured down the entire time, but that was OK. A little rain {or…a lot of rain} wasn’t going to stop our 4yo who was just bowled over with excitement. It didn’t stop her trying to do backflips on the bungee trampoline, getting her face painted, doing dance activities with some amazing children performers and she ate the biggest twister dog that I have ever seen! We rarely get one on one time with our youngest so this was a lovely afternoon to spend out & about with her.

We enjoyed an 80’s cartoon party at a cool Geek Cafe bar in Belfast called Vandal. The kids had a blast on some retro consoles while I enjoyed being thrown back into my childhood with He-man, Inspector Gadget, Rescue Rangers! {remember them!?}, Blackstar and so much more.

Cosy jumpers! I love Autumn and I love being able to wear my chunky knits and feel cosy all day long.

Entertainment {TV, Books etc}

Re-runs of Greys Anatomy have been keeping me happy over the last few weeks. All of my favourite shows have either been cancelled {gutted!} or just naturally come to an end {equally gutted} OR they’re on their mid-year hiatus due to return next month. Hurrah! So, for now, I’m being kept happy with the fabulous hair of Dr McDreamy, the drama-fueled life of Merideth Grey & just generally getting caught up in the joy that happens in Seattle Grace Hospital.

So that’s everything that I have loved in September. I’m sure there were a few more but my mind is blank due to sleep deprivation {glares at her husband – he snores – loudly!}. So anyway, bring in October!

What did you love in September?

    Congratulations on your very first anniversary of your marriage! I am thrilled for you and I hope you and your family had a wonderful time. I may check out the Vitamin C Mist. I am trying to eliminate the amount of chemicals I absorb. I know the Body Shop has always produced products that are good for you and the environment.
