Places to visit in Somerset

Places to visit when in Somerset
In a few short months, we’re going to be jetting off for another fun-filled family holiday. Unlike last year when we ventured off to France to stay in Croix de Vieux Pont with Eurocamp, this year we’re trying out another Haven Holiday in Burnham-on-sea in Somerset. It has been years since I’ve visited Somerset, so long, in fact, I think the last time I was there was when my eldest son {now 16} was just a toddler and I was visiting my Mother in Yeovil. So, it’s been a while! I remember it being a beautiful part of the country so I’m excited to see it again with my family.

Me being typically me I love to plan a ‘things to do’ and ‘places to see’ itinerary. I can be a bit of a Sheldon Cooper when it comes to planning trips so it’s been fun making one for our next family holiday. Somerset is such a gorgeous part of the country and I would personally hate to miss out on seeing anything outside the Haven holiday park, so I’ve had a little look online and decided to share with you a few fun places I’ve found that you can visit if you’re ever planning a trip to the North of Somerset.

Weston-Super-Mare has a beautiful beach and is known for being a much-loved seaside resort with traditional seaside attractions and it even has donkey rides available for the kids along the shore! I reckon buckets and spades will be bought and a day at the beach will be had! Bring on the 99ers and deckchairs!

The¬†Animal Farm Adventure park seems like a super fun place to take the children whilst on holiday in Somerset. From tractor rides, safari trains, lazy boat rides and more, I’m already excited to pay this fun Somerset attraction a visit!

Longleat safari Park is another great place that I’d love to take the children whilst visiting Somerset. Taking the time to enjoy a Safari bus, taking on the challenge to explore the Longleat hedge maze, checking out the bat cave and even enjoying some fun at the adventure castle!

Keeping up with the animal theme that seems to be dominating this planned holiday, Puxton Park looks like a cute place to hop over to for a visit! From fun tractor cars, water walking {zorbing}, to spending some time at the petting zoo. It looks like a charming place to spend the day!

So, these are a few places to visit in Somerset that I hope we will make it too {weather depending} when we spend a week in Burnham-on-sea in Somerset this coming July! We’re really looking forward to this years family holiday because our littlest lady is another year older and hopefully she’ll be able to enjoy this next adventure much more than previous years. But most of all, we’re looking forward to spending a week together as a family, eating out, enjoying movie nights after fun-filled days, day trips and adventures galore! Fun times will be had and memories will be made and I cannot wait to share them all with you on our return.

Where are you planning to take your family to this year?

We have just booked a short break to Somerset this Summer. It’s funny how many people I am spotting doing this. Hope you have a great time.
