Our Amazing Eurocamp Holiday in France | Travel

When I first read the email from Eurocamp inviting us to stay at one of their many amazing parks, I was so excited. We hadn’t considered going on a family holiday this year but after the invite from Eurocamp, we knew we had to go!

Eurocamp has so many amazing parks to choose from in an array of beautiful countries. Austria, Italy & Croatia to name a few however after many hours we finally chose to visit the Parc La Croix Du Vieux Pont in Berny-Riviere, Paris. France is a part of the World that has always appealed to me to visit someday, and the prospect of actually having the opportunity to go was pretty amazing.

Our first family holiday to France

Now I won’t sugar coat the fact that taking kids away is a stressful business so that part the darling man and I both dread {especially with a toddler} – which is natural I’m sure you’ll agree. So I made sure I was more than prepared with busy bags to keep them entertained during our travels. Word to the wise? The portable DVD player was an absolute godsend with the toddler!

Our plans, once we arrived at the Eurocamp Parc, was to simply – have fun! That was our motto for the week. I was hoping for adventure, laughter, fun and a true week of family time. At home life can get jumbled, messy and crazy so this week was for us to unwind & reconnect with each other again.

Once we arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport from Belfast, Northern Ireland the trip got a little crazy! It turns out the park we decided to visit was one of the hardest to get to without a car {I wish we’d known this before choosing the park!} however, we figured things out {eventually} and managed to get two trains and a taxi to eventually arrive at Eurocamp a little later than planned! {2230hrs!}. It turned out to be a very long day! But we were so super excited to finally be where our holiday together could start!

We were greeted by a lovely member of staff, Ben {who also carried ALL of our luggage bless him in a wee trailer} and showed us to our caravan. I fell in love as soon as I saw that we had a garden, a little driveway with a sweet little lamp post all lit up and shining beautifully and it felt instantly like a home. What made it better was once we walked into our lovely three bedroom caravan there was a lovely welcome pack waiting for us!

Once the morning light came I couldn’t wait to pop out for a proper look at the Vista caravan that would be our home for the next week.

Our accommodation

Our caravan was impressively spacious. She had three bedrooms, one double and two twin rooms. All had fitted wardrobes and above bed shelving. Down by the two twin rooms, the kids had a toilet room and a shower room, and our double room {which surprised me} had an en-suite toilet & shower. The kitchen was lovely with a gas cooker, fridge freezer and microwave and I have to say, the whistle kettle addition? Love it! Is it sad it excited me to use it? I’d never heard a whistling kettle whistle before! {It’s the little things!}.

Outside had a gorgeous deck with patio tables & chairs and an impressively large garden space for the children to play. Due to the no fencing around the garden Annabelle could and did get out and attempt her escape several times {typical toddler behaviour!} however Eurocamp supply you with a decking gate, and this was such a great safety feature for us because our little Houdini could even unlock and open the caravan doors! So Annabelle was often contained and found looking out onto the green grass beyond. {Does it make me a bad mummy to chuckle every time I see this photo??}


Once we had a good nights sleep, up washed & dressed we couldn’t wait to start exploring the park.


Everywhere you turned there were trees, grassy fields and lakes. It was a truly stunning setting for the Parc and it was a complete pleasure whichever way you turned.

Swimming at Croix De Vieux Pont

The swimming pools were something else! Absolutely gorgeous and something for everyone! We never went into the outdoor pool as it was always far too cold! We much preferred the indoor pools where it was cosy & warm!!

The splash pad area was wonderful and it was by far Annabelle’s favourite part! She just loved running around trying to catch the water spouting from different colourful characters around the room.

The more grown-up section of the pools was so lovely. Waterfalls, bubbles and a great place to play a little water volleyball too.

These two cheeky faces loved every moment of their swimming time at the park. If I’m honest, we were hardly ever out of the pools! It was a massive favourite for us all.

There are a handful of playparks

This play park was just behind us {as was a laundrette – super handy!} & there were loads of these styles of parks sprinkled around all over the park. Of course, I had to get on to have a play too! The kids can’t have all the fun!

Trampolines & Pedalos

Round by the pedal boats there is a little fun park, filled with bungee trampolining, smaller trampolines for the little ones, quad bikes and more. Lots of fun and there was also a shop to fill cheeky tummies with delicious ice-cream treats.


This little beauty was super kind and posed just right for me to take this photo. I don’t know when she grew up so fast but can someone make her stop, please?

This is just the most beautiful place to sit and just watch the fishermen fish, the pedal boats pedal by or maybe if the kids will allow you half an hours peace {Ha! Unlikely!} maybe read a book! It’s so tranquil!

Manmade swimming pool/beach


The man-made beach was just amazing and a HUGE hit with the kids. Who doesn’t love a beach!? We also thought the little umbrella shades shattered around the edge was a great touch.


We made so many new memories as a family during our week in La Croix Du Vieux Pont and I cannot begin to tell how much fun we had making them! You can see Part two of our Eurocamp Adventures, here.
