Our Viaduct Adventure

On the morning Ellie and Jacob flew off on holiday with their Dad & Grandparents, I felt horrifically lost. So, to counteract my sadness {as I was missing their faces and hugs already!} little miss Belle & I took ourselves off for a little adventure to a local viaduct.
I made her a pair of little shorts from one of her jeans. She never wears jeans! So it seemed the perfect thing to do, plus how cute did she look in her jean shorts, pink hat & wellies!!

So with a little lunch packed, wellies on we were off! The viaduct is luckily quite local to us and somewhere we go quite often for walks as a family. However, on this visit, I planned something specific for Annabelle & me. I knew this little creek, behind a fence of trees where I knew she’d love to throw rocks into the stream, pick up sticks and admire the surroundings.

Being here often, this little miss knew the way! So she lead and I followed. It was lovely just watching her run about exploring the flowers and butterflies.

As soon as we took the buggy off-road, in among the green trees and rocks scattered on the ground, we arrived at the little clearing I had planned for our morning.

….and Annabelle took straight to what I was hoping she’d do. Be a kid. Kneel down on the rocks, splashing in the water, picking up sticks and throwing stones to make the biggest splashes!

It was such a glorious morning. Watching her happily throwing stone after stone into the stream. Me helping her and the both of us sitting together on a log to enjoy the scenery and a have a little munch or a drink.
Skimming stones

I love the contrast colours of my glorious Cosatto Foxtrot Supa in the wild!

We both had an absolute blast on our viaduct adventure and it will be without a doubt done again! I am so pleased she enjoyed it and it was so peaceful to just sit, listen to the nature around us and have fun. It really did feel like we were the only people for miles around and that alone was pretty amazing. For this little place to be just around the way from us is a real treat and we cannot wait to go back!

What a lovely place. I also love the nature photo’s you took what camera did you use for these as they are brilliant!! #MMWBH
Gorgeous photos. Love the cut-off jeans! I remember doing that as a child with my old jeans. You can’t beat a day in the fresh air, just exploring outdoors. Lovely to enjoy a little bit of one-to-one time too. #mmwbh
I do that with jeans too – they look so cool as shorts! These photos are amazing, I wish we lived near here! I love it when they lead the way, Tyler is the same when we go to Windsor, he leads the way as he knows it so well – so cute! #MMWBH

What a beautiful spot and the photos are so lovely. I have recycled trousers that are a bit too short by turning them into shorts. Great idea and she looked adorable! #MMWBH
Thanks so much!! x
Beautiful photos! I hope you’re managing to keep your mind busy & not miss your older guys so much, days out like this will help I’m sure #mmwbh
Aww looks like a real gem of a place. Its obvious why she loves it. Thanks for reminding me that I can DIY the little people’s clothes too! For some reason, I always just stick to my own
It really is a gem of a place Joy, thanks!!
I keep meaning to do that with Ben’s old jeans, he always ruins the knees – typical boy!
Your little adventure has made me so excited for September when Amy & I will get some special time together while the big two are at school! X
Ha, my Jacob is exactly the same! Definitely a boy thing! We really had the best time. I’m not used to it just being her and then with the no time table to stick to too as been quite a treat. x
