Nutella Pull-Apart Christmas Tree

Nutella Pull-Apart Christmas Tree

Every Christmas Eve, I host a North Pole Breakfast for my gang. I wrap the doorways so the youngest can burst through as the older ones aren’t that fussed anymore. The joys of kids growing up! I put on a monstrous spread of pancakes, fruit, bacon, a chocolate fountain {because, why not!} and the main event, our Nutella Pull-Apart Christmas tree.

Now, half of you who are taking the time to read this blog {thank you!} that you already know what this is and half of you don’t. It is for the ‘don’t’ in that group that this post is for. I am going to share with you how to make your own Nutella Pull-Apart Christmas tree to enjoy. You can enjoy it with your own North Pole breakfast this year or just because! Like you need a reason to treat yourself to pastry & Nutella, am I right?

For this simple recipe you will need three things:

Puff pastry x 2 sheets {ready to roll, or make your own – the choice is yours!}
Nutella
1 egg {lightly beaten}

Directions:

First things first, preheat your oven to 190 degrees and line a baking tray with some parchment paper.

Once your puff pastry is at room temperature, roll it out onto a baking tray. If you do this too soon and the puff pastry is too cold, it will break. So be sure it is at room temperature before rolling it out.

Layer the puff pastry sheet with glorious Nutella!

Lay the second sheet of room temperature puff pastry on top of the Nutella coated puff pastry. Delicious!

Now for the fun part, cutting it and making it look festive and fabulous! Cut a diagonal line from the top and the same on the other side. Be sure to give it a little pot at the bottom.

From the top, twist each ‘branch’ and pinch down gently to the parchment paper. Do this with every puff pastry branch.

With the excess puff pastry, you can cut out a star for the top of the tree and any other decorations for the tree you’d like. I went with snowmen!

Brush your Nutella pull-apart tree with egg wash and pop it into the oven at 190degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Leave to cool for 5 minutes before letting the family loose on pulling off the delicious Nutella filled puff pastry branches!

Et Voila!

This is a hit with my gang every single year and believe me when I say, that they do not last long either! And in a matter of moments, we have icing sugar-dusted smiles and happy bellies and that makes me truly happy.

This recipe takes around 15 minutes to prep, 25 minutes to cool and 0.55 seconds to gobble up! Enjoy this super simple recipe because it is a good one. The easiest ones are always the best, aren’t they?
