Living room inspiration with Fishpools Furniture

Our living room is the hub of the home. The kitchen is the heart, but our living room is the main hangout space of our house. It’s where we have our floor picnics {kids favourite}, our family & friend board game nights and general movie-watching space.
The decor of said living space, in our house anyway – has been the same for quite some time. Me being me, I can see this being revamped {just slightly} this year. I get itchy feet if something remains the same for too long and I’d be lying if I said our living room couldn’t do with a repaint {to begin with!}. However, when you change the colour of your walls, you then find yourself changing curtains, cushions and even the sofa. We could do with a new sofa too now that I think about it…
I can already feel the slight revamp of the room becoming a complete overhaul. Especially after I spied this luscious Caruso corner sofa – I mean, LOOK AT IT!

For starters, I can see the recliner being claimed by the 5yr old, never mind the man of the house! And the chaise longue is already giving me all the reading area feels!
Or maybe I could be swayed by this ELAN corner sofa because we’ve had leather for so long! The fabric would be a really nice change.

Who doesn’t love a good sofa? It’s the place where you can all sit & chat. Catch up on your days, have a nap, laugh and snuggle under blankets as you watch a movie.
I guess as the kids get older, the fewer toys we are finding in our living room and fewer books. It’s sad I guess because the kids are growing up but it’s also lovely too. Us adults are going to finally have a living room that doesn’t look like a section out of the Smyths catalogue. Or look as though it’s been raided by the borrowers!
The dirty finger marks will be painted over and the markings left over from the alphabet chalkboard will be gone. Shelves of children’s books will be replaced with pretty plants and we may even have to retire the trusty kallax unit.
The home will grow and evolve with our children and even though not having our front room resemble a page out of the smyths catalogue, I’ll still miss it. I’ll always miss those dirty fingerprint marks and yes, even the chalk marks leftover from Annabelle teaching herself to write the alphabet. But I suppose the most important thing is this living room is the only living room they have ever known.
It doesn’t matter what changes inside it because the memories of learning to walk, writing the alphabet and that time they placed their sticky fingers over the walls, will always remain within this home.
So, bring on the living room inspiration and adding those final touches because I think it’s time for a revamp…
If you were to revamp your living room, what’s the first thing you’d change?

I really want a new sofa as mine is on its last legs……need to save some money first though
The sofa is absolutely gorgeous. I want to get a corner sofa for our living room as our current sofa has seen better days, but Nathan’s not interested in redecorating. Men!

I love love that sofa.. it’s exactly what I’ve been trying to purchase but it simply won’t fit the size of the room.
Oh my goodness, I need that sofa in my life! Imagine the snuggles and films with the family together
The first thing I would change would be to have it a bit more open and knock out the chimneys to be honest. Plus I would love to have a bigger and comfortable sofa as awe only have a 3 seater that is a few years old now. I think having a reclining sofa option would be my orefrence so I could put my feet up and relax in the evening.
That corner sofa looks beautiful. I love the muted colour too. Throw some gorgeous cushions on and it will look gorgeous.
Oo, I love the look of both those sofas. A recliner… what a luxury! Good luck in your decision-making!
What a lovely written piece and thanks for the mention can’t wait to read the next one
We are currently looking at buying a new sofa and I have my eye on a velvet dark blue sofa, but do worry about how practical it will be :/ A cosy corner sofa is the dream!
I need to invest in a new sofa this year. These sofas look gorgeous!
