Creating stickable snapshots with the HP Sprocket

Just before Christmas, I was very kindly sent the HP sprocket {in white & rose gold but it’s also available in black} to review. It’s no secret that I love taking photos and with this handy portable printer, I can print them wherever I am.

What is the HP Sprocket?

The HP Sprocket is a portable printer, about the size of a mobile phone and using Bluetooth technology you can print out your photos wherever you are, by using the HP sprocket app on your mobile phone or tablet. It’s available for both iOS & Android devices. {It isn’t compatible for mac users}

By using ZINC® {zero-ink technology} means that this portable printer does not require ink cartridges, like regular printers. NO INK! By using HP ZINC® Sticky-backed photo paper you are able to print out your favourite social media snapshots, pretty cool right.

The HP Sprocket app is very easy to navigate through. You can upload photos from your Instagram, Facebook and even your own mobile phone photo gallery. You can do all kinds of extra tweaks to your photos {if needed} such as adding brightness or contrast, adding text, borders, emojis, stickers and more. You can also save your creation to your HP Sprocket photo folder before printing. It takes less than a minute from asking your HP Sprocket to print before you are holding the photo in your hands.

Reasons to love the HP Sprocket;

  • It feels utterly gorgeous in your hand. It has a really smooth casing and just feels really lovely to hold. It’s a great size which allows me to carry it around with me easily. Either in my back pocket of my trousers, my jacket pocket & of course my bag too.
  • I can print out my favourite photos if I’m out to dinner with friends, at a birthday party, or even if travelling.
  • I don’t need to buy ink cartridges for it. Do you know how insanely amazing this is? Because it has ZINC® {zero ink} technology
  • The ZINC® sticky-backed photo paper isn’t expensive to replace. A pack of 20 2″x3″ Zinc photo paper snapshots is available from the HP store for £10.00. Bargain!
  • It’s charged via USB cable {which is provided}; meaning, it can also be charged with a power bank if needed when you’re out & about. {handy!}.hp-sprocket-review

You’re maybe thinking “But, what’s the quality of the photos like?”. I think the image quality is pretty great but be sure to consider that the image will be printed out on 3inx2in photo paper but then with anything, the better quality your photos are then the better your image will look.

If you are looking to have a square cropped image printed bare in mind that it will only print out in portrait or landscape. If you would like to have a square cropped image printed then you will need to adjust it to fit into the portrait/landscape space provided on the HP Sprocket phone app.

The sticky-backed photo stickers can be used anywhere you’d like. I personally love adding little moments to my 2017 diary at the moment; places we’ve been, birthday moments and more. They can also be used for scrapbooking, pinning onto your cork boards at the office, adding to your school/college or University folders, giving to friends etc.

I love that I can literally print out memories and special moments wherever I am and my mind slightly blows that when I’m using the HP Sprocket that I’m holding a little hand-held printer. The geek in me gets a little giddy at that and more importantly, it’s a great price too! {RRP £119.99}.

Disclosure: I was sent this product for the purpose of my review. All thoughts, photos and opinions are entirely my own and please, if you are interested in buying one of these for yourself or a partner/friend then please be aware of the operating system on your phone or tablet required to be compatible with this product.

    I make a diary for my daughter so I need to take a photograph of her every day. And the HP Sprocket helps me a lot to make my diary perfect. The colours of the photo are very beautiful, I love the sprocket so much.

    HP Sprocket is nifty little gadget. regular printers are big and expensive to maintain. Sprocket is a good solution for students also who need images for their projects.

    I love taking photo so it will be useful for me. I can print out the photo right after taking it. I don’t have to worry about running out of sd card storage. And the picture quality seems good, too. Can’t wait to receive it.
