AD | Framed Movie & Gaming Wall Art Review with Zavvi

In this house, we love movies. We do geek and wave wands, wish on stars, we assemble and wield magic. As a family, we believe in once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away and think that a second breakfast should be a thing. We love to display our love of movies, whether they are new or old and we without a doubt appreciate a classic! This is why I have fallen in love with Zavvi. This website has the most extensive range of movie posters I think I have ever seen! And when they asked if I would like to collaborate? I gave them a hell yeah! 

In our home, we are lucky enough to have a second reception room. It acts like a second living room, which is something I had in one of my childhood homes. My Mum used to use one in the summer months and the other in the colder months. A pretty genius move when I think about it. However, for us? We have it as our den. A place where our dining table resides and is mostly always covered in laundry, but it also houses our computer desks.

Not only are we a large family, but we are a gaming family too. So each and everyone in this house owns a gaming PC or laptop of sorts. Some even have multiple screens! So, it can be a lot! But in the den, we have two desks with PCs and we are trying to make it into a cooler space to hang out. So it’s not just for our never-ending pile of laundry! And this is where Zavvi come in! 

We started off by repainting the walls. For years they were this biscuit sort of colour and after eight years? It was screaming at me for a change! So we kept it safe and painted it white and do you know what? It works because it opens up a small space to give the illusion that it is bigger and I am so here for that!

After giving the walls a fresh lease of life, it was time to sit down and search for the perfect prints to go up on our walls. We chose the wall above the dining table for these prints because I have some amazing ideas for the other 3 walls. However, after a few hours {because they really do have an extensive range!} we finally chose three framed movie prints for our wall.

Well, OK, one movie print, one game print and one from an old cartoon that was my ultimate favourite back in the 1980s. Purely because choosing one of each just furthermore encompasses who we are as a family. My first one was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Movie Poster. We love Harry Potter in this house and all agree that this was our favourite movie. You can find this in the movie posters section.

Secondly, we chose the Monster Manual book cover for Dungeons and Dragons. We chose this as we are long time players of the game. I personally started playing over 20yrs ago! And we now have an annual Christmas Day Dungeon and Dragons edition that we play as a family. The kids love it. So much so my eldest daughter, who is in 6th form is teaching herself to be a Dungeon Master and is thinking about starting up a club for D&D in school.

The final print I chose from Zavvi was Thundercats. Which if you are an 80’s kid like myself, it was a no brainer of a choice, right? Choosing only three prints was hard because there were just so many good ones. Whether they were for movies, gaming or pure 1980’s nostalgia! I could have easily have chosen 20 prints!

The quality of the frames is nice and they were delivered well. The cost of a framed print or the majority of the framed prints is £29.99, but do keep an eye on the website as they have changes in price quite frequently. They are not glass, but clear perspex which I find just as nice and you can not tell the difference when they are on the wall. Some art posters come with the option of sizes as well as a choice of frames.
