FirstBike UK Review

Learning to ride my bike as a young child is still something that is very vivid in my mind. My Dad took me out into our street, and thankfully we had a good long footpath to practice on. He held the seat of my bike firmly as I swung my leg over, got myself ready and started to pedal.
It was totally one of those moments where I realise we’d gone quite far up the footpath, only to stop, look back and see my Dad standing there waving looking very proud indeed. I couldn’t believe it. I rode my bike on my own!

Fast forward 30yrs and I have my own family of little ones and for the older four have done so for each of them. However, for my littiest one who is two and half years old, her turn has yet to come.

So when FirstBike UK sent us out one of there pretty fabulous balance bikes to test out, I thought this would be a great first step to ‘one day riding a big bike’ when she’s a little older. We chose the Violet learning bike and the colour of it is just gorgeous.

This is the perfect training bike for children aged from 2-5yrs and I was so pleased when it arrived that not only was it pretty straight forward & simple to assemble, but it was the perfect height for my toddler too.

When Annabelle first got on and started to move herself forward with her feet, I’ll be honest, I was impressed. The fact she could maneuver herself without any issues {which includes turning the bike} was a great bonus for me.

This training bike is really lightweight {which is comforting if your child has had enough and fancies walking for a while, and it is also really comfortable to carry due to its frame design} and comes with a height adjustment dial that requires no extra tools to make the adjustments.

I love that this bike gives me the satisfaction of not having to introduce Annabelle to a bike with stabilizers. This training bike gives her the balance skills she needs and the right posture too that’s required for riding a bike with pedals.

When purchasing your FirstBike UK there is a choice of really fun bikes accessories, such as bells, lowering kits and even baskets. As you can see, we went for the basket as I thought it made for a really cute addition to her bike.

She loves nothing more than going to the shops with her Daddy and bringing back goodies that she’s put into her basket.

Another accessory that every child should wear when riding a bike, even if it’s a balance bike like this, should be a safety helmet. Firstbike UK have a really gorgeous {and very different} range of bike helmets available. We went for this funky Zebra safety helmet for Annabelle and it’s just all manners of cute.

This FirstBike UK gets a huge thumb’s up from us. It’s perfect in every way for my daughter and I have to give it to FirstBike UK as they seem to have literally thought of everything a child needs when being introduced to their first bike.

You can check out all of the features of the balance bike has to offer, from the non-slip horse saddle shaped seat to the reflective stickers placed over the bike for low light conditions and more.
We just LOVE this First bike and it’s rode on a daily basis. Seeing her on the bike and getting around on it with ease is surely something to be proud of. FirstBike UK bikes RRP for £94.99.

Great bike. I’m thinking of buying a balance bike for Xmas. I thought they might be a waste of time but they are from 3 years so this would be perfect for Matthew. He isn’t interested in his bike yet because he doesn’t know how to pedal.

Tin Box Tot loves her balance bike and I’ve always been so impressed with how quickly she worked out how to ride it. The fact that you don’t need tools to adjust the saddle height of this one is really handy and I love that zebra helmet. Very cute!

I’ve never heard of a “balance bike” before but I might need to look into this. We are about ready to take the next step in bike riding
