Epson Home Cinema system | Review

As a busy family, we are always making time to do things together. Whether it be board game sessions on Sundays, or snuggling up for a movie night mid-week. Having time with the husband & kids isn’t something we get often – maybe, twice a week at most! So it’s vital that we make the time to hang out, doing whatever we get up to, to stay connected.
I have already mentioned that we love our movie nights. We’re actually doing the Marvel movie a week in the run-up to the release of Infinity War – and we are loving it. Epson got in touch recently to help us make our movie nights more awesome than they already are. They very kindly sent us out the Epson EH-TW650 Home cinema projector to try out and spoiler alert? It’s a game changer!

When I think of a projector, I am sent back to my schooldays {in the mid 90’s} and having to copy work from the square, slightly blurry screen on the wall. Not ideal, but sure back in those days we didn’t know any different. Technology has come such a long way since then. The Epson TW650 is small {around the size of an Xbox 360}, portable, and crazy simple to set-up. We don’t have any spare, blank wall space available to use the home cinema projector on, so we bought a 100″ projection screen from Amazon {for as little as £20} and we were good to go. We did test the epson projector out on our wall and the results were just as impressive.

This is a high-definition projector – not just for movies, but for gaming too. Which, when raising an actual troop of gamers, was music to their ears. For the projectors first test-run, my Husband connected it up to his Xbox One and selected Overwatch as his game of choice to play. The screen quality was incredible – my Husband can be a bit of a game quality snob! And seeing that it looked far better on a projector than on a TV screen was a massive thumbs up. In fact, he hasn’t played it on his monitor since the arrival of the projector – which speaks volumes.
The Epson projector comes with remote control. However, most of the things you’ll need can be accessed via the buttons on the top of the projector itself. Such as; adjusting the screen size, volume, menu & home screens.

Before we had the projector, I had never given owning one a second thought. But now we have one, it is something we have used a lot. The home cinema projector is also something the family prefer to use than our regular 42in TV. It is the first thing we go for when we have our family movie nights, and it is also the preferred choice when my boys {including my Husband} are having a gaming session.
Knowing this piece of tech is going to be used so much, it’s comforting to know that it has a long-lasting lamp light source – guaranteeing you up to 11yrs of movies & gaming!

The Epson projector also gives you the ability to have a split screen. This allows you to have two consoles connected at the same time {thanks to the two HDMI ports available}. This is a cool feature for gaming nights with friends or family. My husband also makes use of the split screen feature when doing his University work. He is doing a degree in Computer programming, so he would have one screen with his coding & the other screen would have his study books.
To round up this review, as a family, we love the Epson TW650 home cinema projector. It is light, portable, highly versatile with top quality results. They cost around £600 and in my opinion, projectors can easily replace standard TV’s. My Husbands words are “why opt to watch a movie on a TV when this projector can give you a cinematic experience”. He is 100%, right.

I love this idea – its like having a cinema in your own home!!
I have a friend who always buys things like this so I will have to tell him about it. If we hadn’t just upgraded our TV it something I would of looked into a bit more.
Ah this looks amazing, i’ve been looking into getting a projector as I have a massive wall in my bedroom and think it would look great. Will look into this one! xo
Wow the quality on that looks incredible, and I love that you can use it for not only movies but for gaming as well. I imagine it can make gaming even more addictive having that incredible viewing
What a great idea for movie night, even better if you can invite all your friends over too to watch your favourite movie in a large screen.
Woweeeee my daddy has always wanted a home cinema projector to play x-box games on with his friends. I’d love to watch back to back Disney films on one. We don’t really have the space sadly. Looks fab!
I want a projector so badly! This one is so amazing! Fun for the entire family!
This is so cool. I’ve always wanted a projector. What a great way to watch movies!
That’s pretty rad to have at home. I’m sure my kids will love it, especially my two sons who are obsessed with video games. I think it’s awesome that you’re sharing how easy it is to us! Love the quality as well.
Do you know I’ve seen home projectors about but I have never actually seen one in use. It almost seems like a real cinema in your own home, what an awesome idea.
Oh wow! That looks incredible. We had a projector back in the day before we had kids but had to get rid of it when it came to looking for a new place to live (going from rental to buying). I think it’s time we got our projector back now!
Having a projector makes such a difference doesnt it? Great excuse for regular movie nights!
This looks fantastic. What a great idea and lots of fun for all the family. xx
Oh wow!!! The results are so much better than I thought they would be. What a great idea for movie nights.
