Epson Expression XP-690 Photo printer review

Epson Expression XP-690 Photo printer review

I love a bit of tech and I love photography. The two go hand-in-hand really – I mean, you can’t take great quality photos without a good quality piece of tech. It’s a no-brainer. The same applies when printing out your photos too. I am forever taking photos of my family; my children are all growing so fast I fear I may miss something.

All of those memories and moments captured are sprinkled throughout CD’s and flash drives when in reality they should be showcased on the walls of our home. So I made myself a promise to finally get them printed, framed & on the walls. To help me with that I was kindly sent out the Epson Expression XP-690 photo printer to review.

Epson Expression XP-960 Review

I had an A3 printer many years ago and once I opened the Epson Expression printer I instantly noticed the difference in size. It was much smaller in width which was nice to see and I guess it shows you the advances of technology over the years. Another exciting thing was the Epson Expression XP-690 is also an all-in-one printer and not just for printing photos. Making this product much more versatile than anything I have ever owned.

The key features of the Epson Expression photo printer:

– Compact photo all-in-one printer. Prints in sizes up to A3, scan & photocopy up to A4.

– Mobile printing; Allowing you to print from almost anywhere.

– Dual paper trays; One for A4 & another for photo paper.

– 10.9cm touch-screen; also allows PC-free printing from flash drives & memory cards.

After noticing the size of the printer I saw the 10.9cm interactive touch-screen on the front {very snazzy}, and after switching it on the screen rises and the base tray will come out automatically; which I thought was very cool. The touchscreen is also very responsive which was nice to see.

Setting up the printer was easy and it was all done through the interactive touch screen. Setting up the wireless connectivity was simple too. For the ink cartridges, I was sent the Multipack 6-colour 24 Claria photo HD ink pack. The colours are; cyan, magenta, yellow & black, as well as light cyan & light magenta. The ink cartridges, do come in a range of sizes depending on how frequent a printer you are.

For this review, I decided to finally get around to printing out our Wedding photos. We got married back in September 2016 and up until now didn’t have a single Wedding photo on the walls. For my first print, I jumped straight in for an A3 size photograph. You can only load a single sheet of photo paper {through the rear media feed} when instructed by the printer and the printing speed is pretty fast too.

The first photograph I printed was on A3 Epson Glossy photo paper and the results were pretty amazing. The quality is next to none as the Epson expression printer enables you to print out HD-quality photographs. Due to the superior photo quality & smooth tonal gradations throughout your prints {including deep, rich & vibrant colours} your photos will be long-lasting.

I am absolutely thrilled with this product and the quality it pumps out is exactly what it says on the box. Superior-quality photos full of deep, rich and vibrant colours. The price tag on this printer is £249.99 and after seeing the results it gives you, I’d say it was 100% worth it. In fact, I’d even go as far to say that it was a bit of a bargain.

{I haven’t used the all-in-one printer for anything other than photo printing {as yet} but once I do I’ll be sure to update this review.}

Disclosure: This product was sent to me for the purpose of my review. All thoughts, photos and opinions are entirely my own.
