Dyson V8 Review

Until recently, I had never owned a Dyson. I had always wanted to own one but never did. That’s until Dyson got in touch asking me to review their latest model, the Dyson V8 Absolute

Having gone from a corded vacuum cleaner to a cordless – my life changed forever. My previous vacuum seemed to do a good job, but after turning on the Dyson V8 absolute for the first time and seeing everything it had gathered up {just from doing my stairs} I was mortified! But then again, I assumed my previous vacuum was doing a good job. Clearly not! So straight away, the Dyson V8 was a game changer!

The Dyson V8 came very well packaged and I loved how it felt when I first picked it up. Nice and lightweight, and I really loved its design and colour. Super vibrant and a really fun looking home appliance. It has a trigger button which you hold in to switch it on and let it go for the vacuum to switch off.

It’s a cordless vacuum which makes life so much more fun, especially when it comes to doing the housework. The main body of the Dyson V8 only weighs 2.6 kilograms making it super lightweight to manoeuvre it around when vacuuming those floors. There are two power modes – this feature excited me! You have normal suction and a max powered suction and the difference between the two are very noticeable.

It comes with a selection of heads – a direct drive head cleaner which is perfect to give your carpets a deep clean and a soft woven nylon cleaner head that is great for hardwood floors.

It also comes with a selection of alternative heads for different requirements; the crevice tool for vacuuming skirting boards, corners and narrow space. You’ve also got a combi-tool {2 cleaning heads in one}, which you can adjust depending on the surface you are cleaning.

You can also change your Dyson V8 into a nifty handheld vacuum cleaner, perfect for doing a quick clean or perhaps the car needs a little at-home valet. You can also change each cleaning adjustment with amazing ease with the simple one-click system on the Dyson V8.

With each charge of the Dyson V8, you get around 40mins usage – which, with my previous cordless vacuum I only got about 15mins so there is a massive improvement there with performance. However, this usage is based on it being in standard power mode if it was switched to maximum power the battery would not last as long.

The one feature that I just adore – it’s the no-touch bin emptying feature. This is just genius in my book! You just need to lift & pull the red lever on the top and the bin will empty for you. No need to get your hands dirty ever again.

Another amazing feature of this vacuum cleaner is its ability to remove allergens from the air in your living space and expels cleaner air for you to breathe. I have a dust allergy, so knowing the Dyson V8 is removing that for me, and leaving the air in my home better for me to breathe – is amazing.

Now I’m sure you’re thinking – yes, yes this vacuum cleaner sounds amazing and all – but what about the price tag? And yes, I have to say it’s more on the high-end coming in at a £409.01 – never fear, I have seen it cheaper, so do shop around. I would see this sort of appliance as an investment and I would certainly say it’s worth the money and recommend it.

Besides, is there really a price tag on being able to vacuum your entire house in under 15 minutes? I think not!

I’d love to have a Dyson hoover, but I must admit, I’d prefer one of their snazzy new hairdryers!

I want one! I seem to get through hoovers so quickly, I haven’t found one yet that can quite deal with the mess my children and pets leave..!

We wouldn’t be without ours. It is so handy, especially with kids!!

I’ve always wanted a Dyson because we have a Dalmatian, her hairs are so fine that a regular hoover is never powerful enough.

Great review. Dyson always makes such a great product, top notch in my opinion. My mom has one that I will borrow every once in a while. 🙂
