AD | The Gingerbread House Project with Chums
Christmas is all about magic, making memories and family. We all know and I have said it many times this season already, that Christmas will be a little different this year. OK, a lot different, but in reality, only if we let it. There are still ways and means of being ‘together’ even if we’re not together-together, you know? I have collaborated with the lovely brand, Chums to get involved with their #TogetherThisChristmas Gingerbread House project. Which sounds fun, right? To make it even more fun, we were sent two Gingerbread House Kits to build and decorate. One for my daughter, Annabelle and to other Gingerbread house went to my beautiful niece, Eva.
Once they arrived, we arranged a time for the girls to hang out over zoom. With Christmas music playing in the background and let them enjoy building their own Gingerbread houses.
I know things are a little different depending on where in the UK you are, but here in Northern Ireland, we have come out of a circuit breaker, only to be going into a lockdown one week later. With another impending lockdown looming, my niece is also an inspirational and brave heart warrior. Staying away from her is our best way of protecting her. This year has been hard on them both as they adore hanging out and getting up to all sorts of mischief. Which is why them both being able to do something like this together, safe and well in their own homes, is so amazing.
#TogetherThisChristmas with Chums – Gingerbread House Project

Isn’t technology amazing, that our children are able to still hang out together and not be in the same house. To be able to laugh and have fun – it’s quite amazing. My sister in law and I really enjoyed watching the girls go mad with their decorating skills and doing so well on their own Gingerbread House projects.
The kit itself was lovely. A traditional German Gingerbread house that tasted amazing! It was super easy for the girls to put together, which is lovely as not many Gingerbread houses are easy to assemble without a team of construction experts on hand! But the girls did an amazing job and before we knew it, were onto their decorating!
There was an array of giggling, icing on noses, smarties being eaten as they decorated their Gingerbread Houses. You can pop over to my Instagram and check out my stories if you want to see those. I even made a cute little video too!
Didn’t they do a fabulous job! I absolutely love it and it’s certainly a wee Gingerbread House kit I will be buying again in the future.

The way to enter is simple, make, build and decorate your own Gingerbread House complete with all of the trimmings i.e. chocolate buttons, candy canes and more. The closing date for this competition is 13/12/2020 and the lucky winners will be announced on 18/12/2020.
