AD | Key Pieces For Your Autumn/Winter Wardrobe!

As much as I may get slated for saying it, I love the cold. Don’t get me wrong, I love the heat as well! But there is just something comforting when you can wrap up in a chunky knit from your wardrobe, slip on your soft, cozy socks and curl up in front of the fire. Come on! Tell me I am wrong. I dare you! You know some part of you agrees with me and that’s OK!
Dressing for the seasons can be fun and with living in Northern Ireland, you just never know what way the weather is going to turn. Granted, nine times out of ten, it’s grey and wet, but it’s Northern Ireland, come on! However, there are so many ways to style up your Autumn and Winter wardrobe look, without breaking the bank. Our aim is to find and purchase key seasonal pieces that can be worn as transitional pieces over the years. Even key pieces from previous years can be combined with newer seasonal pieces that you have picked up.
So, you cosy-loving lot! I am going to share some of my favourite autumnal and wintery wonders to keep the chill at bay. Whether you’re walking the dog, doing the school run or heading to work.
Perfect Winter Boots
I believe an outfit can be formed around your footwear. And whenever Autumn and Winter come to visit, I have to admit, I love delving into my wardrobe to dig out my walking boots. Now, I have to confess, they aren’t as stylish as some women’s boots as they are Gore Tex Hiking Boots.

However, they are loved dearly all the same. Some of you more fashionable lot, would love a pair of fur lined boots or even knee high boots for style and protection against the elements.
Chunky Knits are life!
Another clothing favourite, which I am pretty sure I can speak for everyone is; a chunky knit. Whether you favour an oversized knitted jumper, a cropped chunky cardigan or a simple woollen turtleneck sweater. You are a fan of the chunky knit. And with rising costs from every angle possibly at the moment. The joys of the cost of living crisis! Those chunky knits are loved more than ever.

And chunky knits don’t stop at jumpers and cardigans, oh no! Because alongside the oversized knitted jumpers, you cannot beat a pair of chunky knitted socks.
Longline Coats
Longline coats are a firm winter favourite. They come in a range of different fabrics, styles, lengths to your preference. But they are also a clothing piece that can and will stand the test of time. A longline coat should be a part of everyone’s wardrobe, if you ask me. I adore mine!
Timeless Checkered Pieces
I am a particular fan of a checkered shirt. And I think they have become one of the most-loved autumnal pieces that will become timeless. Because they can be fashioned in so many different ways i.e. with jeans, opened with a cute vest top underneath or closed and given a cheeky french tuck!

And staying with the check/gingham theme for the colder months, you also have carrot tapered trousers, skirts and even midi dresses to choose from to jazz up your winter wardrobe.
Overall…
So following on from all of the above, I would love to know what your favourite autumn and winter pieces are! Is it the timeless longline coat that I mentioned? Or perhaps it is the favoured checkered shirt, like myself. Or it is a combination of the checkered shirt, longline coat with a comfortable pair of knee high boots? Whatever you favour, I love seeing staple pieces become seasonal favourites. And I get why the majority of you dislike the cold, but we cannot deny the comfortability factor we feel as we taken on the elements dressed in chunky knits and comfortable footwear.
