5 Easy hairstyles for Busy Mums

The name of my blog says it all – Super Busy Mum – and I’m exactly that. I’m not ashamed to admit that there are some mornings I don’t get a chance to put a brush through my hair! So goodness knows how some parents have the chance to shower, blow dry their hair & make it look fabulous for the school run. I think a part of me envy’s those Mums but I know that I will never ever be one of those Mums and I’m OK with that.
As one of those Mums that falls into the realm of the unknown what-am-I-going-to-do-with-my-hair today conundrums, I thought I would share a few easy hair style ideas. I mean, I personally need to rock something other than my usual tousled beach hair every day!
The Messy Bun

This has been a hairstyle, that I’ll admit, has never looked on me like it does on other Mums. How do you guys get it looking so stylish? I need to know your secret! However, the messy bun is still a favourite of mine – however pants it may look – because it gets my hair out of the way. Also, if I make it look great – a messy bun can be a super cute hairstyle in my opinion.
Beach waves

This is my everyday look – thanks to lack of time to actually brushing my hair! I love this look and it’s pretty effortless to achieve too. You can either, like me, lack in time to run a brush through your locks OR you can pop some curlers in, leave them over night and gently brush through the next morning.
Half-up Boho bun

When I had longer hair, this was a favourite style of mine. All you need to do is section your hair as you would normally do if wearing a half-up half-down hair do. They twist the hair up section into a bun. Easy peasy. Effortless and it looks fantastic.
Braided faux-hawk ponytail

Now, this is a hair style I wish I do to myself! Something I may try actually because can we take a moment to appreciate how amazing it looks? I find it tricky to do a french braid on my daughters, never mind trying it on myself. It is something I’d love to conquer though.
Flip-twist ponytail

If there was a way to make a ponytail look less boring, this is it! Such a cute and simple hairstyle to do before the school run! This is something I will certainly be trying too.
I’ve always been blessed with very thick reddish, brown hair – I have my Mum to thank for that. And her Mum before that…and her Mum before that – you get the picture! However, after having each of my five children, I did experience some hair loss. Which thankfully wasn’t really noticeable on me due to the thick hair – such a blessing! However, I know other’s aren’t so lucky. Which is why I was so interested to read about the ATP – Advanced Tricho Pigmentation treatment – which goes to show that there is a solution for all kinds of hair loss situations. God bless Science, I say!
Do you have any hairstyles that you can do in a hurry? I’d love to hear about them in the comments below!

I love beach waves, but it takes me ages to do my hair as I have scoliosis and really struggle to lift my arm for more than maybe 20 seconds at a time. I’m always super envious of the mums who have gorgeous hair, AND manage to do something with it in a morning 🙂
