We’ve booked our 2018 Summer holiday! {Roll on July!}

I could not be more excited because I’ve just booked our 2018 Summer holiday! When we asked the kids where they would like to go on their next holiday it was a unanimous decision as they all yelled “SOMERSET” in unison.

We had such an amazing time at the Haven resort in Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset in 2016 that I’d be lying if I wasn’t as equally as excited as the smalls to be going back too.

We cannot wait to revisit some of the places we travelled too and made such amazing memories at; such as the Animal Adventure Play Park, Weston Super Mare & the Sealife centre. We’re looking forward to swimming every day, trying something new, like the high ropes or the zip lines and of course the entertainment in the evenings for the kids.

I can’t WAIT to cook in a caravan again – there is just something about caravan life that I just adore. Whether it stems from all of those caravan holidays as a kid in Castlerock with my family. Who knows – but the caravan life is certainly the life for me.

I am also keen to slow live for a time. Life can be pretty crazy around these parts and have the opportunity to enjoy each others company can be hard sometimes. But on our holidays we do just that – we take in every single moment we have – we soak up the kids, their smiles, their happiness, the little moments and the simple things.

I am looking forward to chilled mornings, afternoon adventures and dance-fueled evenings. I want to see the look of excitement on their faces as they play to 2p slot machines, or score a goal at the football class, or achieve the thing they fear most, the high ropes and seeing if they have the courage to make it across.
I want to take boat rides, bicycle trips, watch them from afar as they be children – untouched by technology for a time. I want to see dirty knees and sand-filled shoes. I want to play board games and enjoy movies with popcorn in the evenings.

So as you can most likely gather…I’m just looking forward to everything this summer holiday can bring us – which is closer together, the ability to make new memories and laugh until we can hardly breathe and just enjoy being us again – away from the crazy school/work home life we can leave behind for a little while.

Roll on July!

Have you booked your Summer holiday yet? Where are you guys off to?

    We have been looking at a few places. Haven sounds like a fun place for those with children. We haven’t been there before but I bet my girls would love to go especially if they can go swimming daily.

    It is lovely that you’ve made such good memories with the family that they all feel the same about going back. It does look like a perfect place to have that time you need to relax, enjoy and be together. Perfect. We haven’t planned anything yet, I think if anything we’re doing last minute planning as and when. Although I really want to do a Highlands tour, preferably in a camper van.

    We’re normally in the next county – Devon but I am familiar with Haven and the great family holidays they offer. As long as the kids are kept busy they’re happy.
