Recipe: Breakfast Bunnies

Easter is just a few short weeks away and I have been putting together lots of fun ideas to serve up to the kids other than filling them full of chocolate eggs! These delicious Breakfast bunnies are PERFECTION – so easy to make, best served up warm and with a selection of dips & spreads.

Ingredients

– Bread dough {or a ready-made pizza dough from your local Supermarket}.
– 1 egg white, beaten.
– 1 tsp of sugar

Method

– Preheat your oven to 170 degrees C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

– Roll out your homemade bread dough or unroll the ready-made dough from the supermarket. Cut into one-inch strips and roll each one into a rope, roughly around 8in long. 

– Cut a bit of the end of your dough rope and roll into a small ball for your bunny tail. Make several of these. 

– Fold your rope into a ‘U’ shape, and loosely twist twice. This will make the body of your bunny. Add your bunny tails.


Breakfast Bread Bunnies– Leave the ears long enough and fold them upwards slightly. Once all of your bunnies are made, place them onto your parchment paper. 

– Brush all of your bunnies with your egg white then sprinkle lightly with sugar. {you can even make a cinnamon and sugar mixture to sprinkle them with instead}.

– Bake your breakfast bunnies for 20mins, or until golden brown. Serve warm {with your delicious choice of dips and spreads!}.

There is nothing like the smell of fresh bread lined up with the smiles on the faces of your children when you serve up deliciously warm bread in the shape of super cute bunnies. These are a delicious addition to anyone’s Easter breakfast {heck you could make them a lunch snack – HELLO! Pizza bunnies! and roll up a little topping & cheese as you roll your ropes & dip them in marinara sauce!}, so whip them up, make your children smile and enjoy!
