Reasons to hire a family car on a holiday to Malaga

Malaga is one of the best known, most beautiful and most visited cities in Spain. It is situated in the south of the Peninsula within the province of the same name and is surrounded by coastal towns known for their good climate, so much so that they are grouped together under the name of the towns of the Costa del Sol.

The fact that it is one of the best known cities in Spain is no coincidence, in addition to its good weather, its cultural offer, its nightlife and its privileged environment Malaga has the largest international airport in Andalusia and the fourth largest in Spain (it is estimated that last year more than 18,500,000 passengers passed through it).

These circumstances mean that, if we are going to visit the city and its surroundings, some issues such as renting a car become especially advisable.

Why is it useful to hire a car to visit Malaga?

1. The dimensions of the city. Malaga is a big city. Compared to other Spanish capitals that are twice its size and number of inhabitants it may seem the opposite, but we should not be deceived by this, as the distribution of the city (which stretches along the coast and climbs towards the mountains) makes it very difficult to move from one part of the city to another and takes up time, as public transport is too slow. If we type in car hire Malaga we will notice that car hire companies are much more numerous than in other cities due to these circumstances.

2. The city’s environment. Beaches and villages in Malaga that we can visit by car. Malaga is surrounded by incredible villages that are equally divided between the mountainous area (as is the case of Ronda and Frigiliana) and the coast (as is the case of Nerja and Mijas). The roads in the province are good and a car makes it very easy to organise your time to visit the places you are most interested in. For this type of movement, public transport, unfortunately, is still rather slow, as it usually has too many stops in all the nearby towns.

In the same way, a car hire in Malaga allows us to organise our stay in a different way and perhaps go directly from one of these towns to the airport the day we finish our stay.

3. Parking facilities. Parking is easy both in the city centre and in the more touristic villages of Malaga. The city is prepared for tourism and, moreover, for the tourism that moves throughout the province, so the parking facilities are guaranteed 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

4. The price of car hire. Precisely because there is so much competition, the prices for renting a car in Malaga are extremely competitive and it is very easy to get plans for renting a family car for days or weeks at a good price.

For all these reasons, we should not think too much when it comes to making the most of our stay in this wonderful city and province with the greatest possible freedom.
