Planning the perfect day with Liverpool ONE

AD – Visiting Liverpool has been on my travel bucket list for a while now. I’ve always had this mindset that…why spends thousands on visiting countries and Cities abroad, when we have so many beautiful Cities right here in the UK to see, first. Do you get me? It’s a true statement right? I sometimes think people don’t really grasp how many beautiful Cities we have right here on our doorstep to see and explore – for us, Liverpool is one of those Cities. 

So, since Liverpool is somewhere we, as a family, would like to explore. I thought it would be fun to put together, what I think, would be the perfect day in Liverpool, with Liverpool ONE. 

At Liverpool ONE there are over 170 shops, bars & restaurants to explore and enjoy, across five districts. So whatever day you plan out in Liverpool, you’ll be sure to find exactly what you’re after. 

First up, Shopping! 

I’m not the biggest fan of shopping, but my kids are! I’ve never known kids who can shop like it and they certainly don’t get this skill from me. Shopping is my worst nightmare but the kids seem to love it and can do it incredibly well.

At Liverpool ONE they have the choice of shopping for anything from clothes, stationery, books and more. 

Visit the World Museum

For a little down time after {or before your shopping spree} you could perhaps visit the World Museum in Liverpool.

As a family, we are avid Museum fans – the National History Museum in London has so far been one of our favourites. Alongside our own Ulster Museum, right here in Belfast, Northern Ireland. 

You can easily spend an afternoon at a Museum – enjoying everything it has to offer, from botanical exhibits to live colonies of insects. There is also a range of fun and educational hands-on activities to keep the kids inspired. 

Grab some grub!

If your kids are anything like my kids then they will constantly be hungry! Whether it be for pretzels from Auntie Anne’s or a full sit down meal at Ed’s Easy Diner {personally, we adore both!}.

In Liverpool ONE you have an insane range of restaurants to choose from, so there you’re guaranteed to find something for everyone. Even with fussy eaters – like my Jacob!

Go on a Nature Trail

There is no better way to feel better after a good feed than going for a walk. Liverpool ONE has their very own Nature trail, offering kids aged 4-11yrs a chance to interact with Chavasse Park’s natural environment. 

After picking up your Nature trail leaflet from the Information Centre on Wall Street – you can embark on your trail. Having fun investigating the area when you arrive at each signpost, keep an eye out for signposts hidden in the undergrowth, too! 

The trail finishes round by Thomas Steers Way near the Fountains. After filling in your Nature Trail leaflet, be sure to drop it into the Information Centre for your reward. 

Catch a movie!

What better way to round off a pretty awesome day, then resting your feet to enjoy a movie at the Odeon Imax Cinema. There are already some great releases out in the cinema and more to come over the summer.

So you’ll have plenty to choose from – just remember to go VIP {always VIP!} and don’t forget the popcorn!
