A little Home Office wish list

A little Home Office wish list

I already have my own home office in our home, but it is far from perfect. So I thought I would think of ways to make it better and share it with you guys. If you have a desk in your home then you can relate to the pile of notebooks {especially if you’re a stationery addict like me!}. You will also have a printer, a lamp, a desk tidy {which always looks messy!} and more.

As I sit here I can see face creams {because I’d forget to put them on if they weren’t in front of me!}. I can also see a desk fan {in Winter?}, and my supposed ‘desk tidy’ isn’t so tidy because it is overflowing with pretty pens and things. Not to mention the pile of notebooks. I did mention I am a stationery addict, right?

The first item I think that would make my home office better is some vision motivation. We all need a little motivation {especially on those Monday mornings} and I think a Peg Board would make a great addition to my home office.

I think having those visual motivations in your line of sight can really make a difference to our working environment. So this pegboard is most definitely the first item on my wish list.

The next item I know would make any home office amazing, is storage. I don’t have any more space than what I have at the moment, so I need to utilise the space I have for making it more efficient for my needs. Queue some under the desk drawers! I spotted these ALEX drawer units from Ikea that would be perfect.

However, if you’re into the metal style cabinets to store everything from your spare notebooks, loose pens and more into – this chalk-white steel cabinet drawers unit would be a great idea! I just love the idea, whatever the cabinet I have, to allow me a nice, clear work surface.

So we have covered visional prettiness i.e. the pegboard {sprinkled with pretty quoted postcards} & the under-the-desk storage {essential!}. Although, another home office essential would be to invest in a shredder. I don’t know about you but I don’t feel good when I just tear important {but no longer needed} documents & put them in the bin. I need to convert myself into a shredder which I think will make me feel much more at ease.

When working at your desk, a comfy chair is a no-brainer! I could certainly do with a new office chair. I spied this Palmero executive chair and I knew it was the one for me. Doesn’t it look like the comfiest office chair ever! Just the care our bums & backs need when we’re at the office for hours on end!

Being a SAHP who works from home, I would love to invest in a binder. Now I understand that isn’t usually something you would have {or see!} in a home office. But it is something I would like to own and for two reasons; binding contracts & invoice at the end of the year. And I would also like to be able to help my daughter hand in her assignments to school looking neat & professional. A trait I had when I was in school – I was such a nerd! But binding work into booklets just makes them look so much better and easier to keep together & read {in my opinion}

So there you go – a little insight into what I feel would make my home office a more pleasant work environment for myself. Is there anything I have mentioned that you would like in your home office? Or, is there something I haven’t mentioned that you would like to invest in? I’d love to know in the comments below.
