How to make Homemade Cinnamon Apple Rings

Welcome back for another recipe! These were a real joy to make and something that my eldest even helped with once she came in from school. She also helped to eat them too! Nothing new there! This week we’ve made…Homemade Cinnamon Apple Rings!
The prep time for these was around 10 minutes, cooking time a more than ten so they really are pretty quick to put together, cook and have on a plate for all to enjoy. These are actually made with a yoghurt batter {something I wasn’t even aware of before!} and rolled in cinnamon sugar {a weakness of my daughters!}.
Here’s what you’ll need:-
– 3 Gala Apples
– 1 cup of all-purpose flour
– 1 cup of yoghurt {I used greek yoghurt}
– 1/4 tsp Baking powder
– 1/2 cup of sugar
– 1-2 tsp of Cinnamon
– Canola Oil {I used Olive oil personally}
– 1/2 Salt
– 1 large egg
– Small circular cookie cutter
…and here’s what you do:-
First of all add your salt, flour & baking powder into one bowl and mix well. Get yourself a separate bowl and add your yoghurt & add your egg. Whisk until well combined.

Add your dry mixture to your wet mixture and whisk together until well combined. Get yourself another bowl and mix your sugar and cinnamon together. You’ll need this for when your apple rings are freshly cooked.

Heat up the oil in your pan, and as that’s heating up slice up your apples. I made mine about a 1cm thick, then I made a hole in the centre with the cookie cutter.

Once that was done, you dunk a slice into your yoghurt batter, pop into the oil {be careful!} and after a minute or so, turning once, they’ll be done.
Once done, give each apple ring a sprinkle or a roll and a shake around in your cinnamon-sugar mixture, and set aside. Continue until done.
Then…VOILA! The job’s-a-goodun’ {as they say!}

Now, little Belle wasn’t awake to enjoy these as she was still recovering from being very unwell earlier on in the week, however my eldest girl eat.the.lot! A sweet & fruity treat she called them.

Apparently, I’m being asked to make them again….and soon! I think she liked them, it’s just a hunch!
PIN IT FOR LATER!
