Digital memories with Nixplay Smart Photo Frame

I am a person who loves anything to do with displaying family memories. Whether they’re on walls, in photo albums, on keyrings or in photo frames. I love it all. I adore my children walking through the walls of their home and seeing fond memories everywhere they look. However, one thing I have never owned has been a digital photo frame, so when Nixplay got in touch asking me to review their Nixplay Smart Photo Frame, I was excited.

This Nix Digital Photo Frame is a beautiful piece of kit. It has a 15.6in black frame, can be controlled and set up via your smartphone and their simple plug & play system. I can confirm it was really easy to set-up and within minutes, I was uploading photos from my phone directly to my Nixplay Photo frame. 

The screen provides you with full HD quality for maximum picture sharpness. When displaying your photos, you can choose how you’d like them to transition between each image – which I thought was a real personal touch. I personally love a good crossfade transition between my photos. So, it’s pretty cool that you can share your photos how you like.

The frame comes with a small remote that helps you set up your frame and also operate it. Such as transition type, software updates, sleep mode, motion sensor and more. 

The remote control also has a magnetic back which allows it to be stored on the back of the frame. Which is a very cool feature I have never seen before.

The Nixplay Smart photo frame has an Infrared HU-motion sensor built-in. Active up 2.5m – so if I have programmed my frame to go to sleep after 30 mins and someone walks passed it within range, it will wake up and start displaying photos again. This is a really lovely feature and this feature really brings this product into the ‘smart’ range of products. 

You can keep track of your storage capacity on your digital frame. As well as delete and change your photos when you like and also make different playlists i.e Easter photos, summer holiday snaps and so on.  This is all capable via the Nixplay app on your phone.

Not only can you upload images from your phone, Facebook and/or Instagram platforms. But you can use photos on a USB or SD card as well. Meaning that all of those forgotten memories that have been lying dormant and unseen on a card in a drawer can once again be enjoyed. I have countless SD cards with thousands of photos on them just waiting for this opportunity. In reality, one day they will all be printed off and placed into albums – another project of mine! 

These frames can also be wall-mounted in either landscape or portrait form. The choice is yours! However, you can also just plant it on a side table and it’s supported by this flexible wire.

Another nifty little feature about this Nixplay Sart frame is that you can share photos and videos with family, soon after they happen. I think in this day & age, seeing loved ones, no matter where in the world they are isn’t always easy. Which is why this product is one of the best gift ideas. I can count a whole handful of Grandparents that would adore one of these as a gift. Through the Nixplay app, you can become ‘friends’ and share photos with each other to your Nixplay Photo frames in no time at all.
