Date outfit ideas {for men & women}

I have something to confess. I haven’t been on many dates. Or I hadn’t been on many dates until I met my Husband. I guess the whole concept of going on a date frightened the life out of me – am I alone with that feeling? Expectations are always high, do you dress to be comfortable or do you dress to impress? Do you dress for a night out or for something a little more fun & casual? THERE IS JUST TO MUCH PRESSURE when it comes to dressing yourself for a date. 

I am going to share a few outfit ideas for both men & women –  what I would personally like to wear on a date and I’ll get my Husband involved to choose a few pieces that he would like to wear. Because let’s face it, I’m not a man. I cannot claim to know what men like to wear so who better to hand that job over to, than my Husband. Who wears nothing more than band tee’s and checkered shirts – but I am sure what he chooses will be perfectly fine!

He had a glance over on the Chums website because a few items spoke to him. He can be quite hard to buy for sometimes, so it was nice for him to see a few choice pieces he liked online. 

However, going on a date isn’t just a candlelit dinner in a fancy restaurant – which is my own worst nightmare! It can be anything from just grabbing a burger {personally I think the messier the better because having a laugh & being silly is one of the best icebreakers!}. You can go & do an escape room, go on a day trip somewhere and even do like a cookery class or something. As long as it is light-hearted, fun & comfortable. 

So what to wear if you’re going on any of these kinds of dates? Well, it just so happens in a Blue Peter-esk one-I-made-earlier moments, I have a few mood boards smooshed together for your visual pleasure! 

I’ll start with the day date outfit – less pressure! You’re going out for coffee {and cake – obviously!} or maybe you’re going for walk or a nice bike ride around a local park. Who knows! But comfortability is key! 

Cute outfits, right? I think so. So with the day date outfits put together, I think the big guns need to be brought out because it’s evening date outfit time. I’m not very good when it comes to fashion. I usually see something I like and PRAY that it suits me when I put it on and even more important than that – will I feel comfortable and myself when I look in the mirror? 

Evening dates mostly consist of fancy dinners, right? My worst nightmare, remember! So I avoid those at all costs. But I think those style of dates are still the general consensus – or perhaps it’s dinner and a movie, or maybe it’s just meeting up for a few drinks and sharing a bag of peanuts – who knows! Either way, here are a few outfit ideas for the all-important evening date! 

So, how did we do? Is there anything from above that you would wear? I’d also love to hear if you prefer a day date or a fancy evening dinner date! Just for my own curiosity if anything else.
