An amazing day with Guinness World Records!
Blogging events are always lots of fun. So when Ellie and I were invited to an event with Guinness World Records in London. It was all very exciting.
Before finding the Guinness World Record offices, we bumped into Colette from Going on an Adventure and Jenny from The Brick Castle along with their beautiful children. It was also nice to see John from DadBlogUK, with his lovely daughter Helen there too. It’s always nice to see some familiar faces at these sort of events!
Once we got inside we were given our own name tags {Ellie thought this was particularly cool and made her feel quite important} and she was also given a goodie bag that contained lots of goodies including the Guinness World Records 2016 Book & the Gamers edition 2016 as well. Lucky girl!
We were soon split into two groups {Team Kurt & Team Bertie} & we got to listen to some of the guys chat about the books, what’s involved in putting them all together and the kids got to fill out a booklet throughout those sessions {to make sure they were listening!} 😉
Ellie loves doing that sort of thing so she was having a ball.
After a few sessions {and the kids filling themselves with the amazing spread the Guinness World Record team put on for us all} we were put into taxis to take us to the next part of our Officially amazing Bloggers fun day with the GWR team.
We walked into this lovely little venue to meet some actual world record breakers and even the official adjudicator Anna from Cbeebies shows Officially amazing.
Guinness World Record Breakers!
We got to watch record-breakers show us their skills in many different skills such as speed cup stacking {which is something my Ellie has always been a fan of}, impressive football skills from John Farnworth {which I knew would have BLOWN my son’s mind if he had come along} and some seriously impressive hula-hooping skills.
However, once we’d seen all of that we got to break some records ourselves. This part was lots of fun! The kid’s {and adults too} could attempt to break the record for the most wood collected in Minecraft n a tablet, picking up the most lego bricks with just your fingers, the most front & backhand claps and so on.
The fabulous presenter there decided to point out to the whole room that there was in fact, some Mums & Dads with us that were Record breakers too, which made the heads of the little people across the floor spin round in amazement. They were asked to raise their hands….so we did.
We are World Record Breakers, too!
We got our Guinness World record from Britmums 2015 for the most Mummies wrapped as Mummies in 3mins. Even thinking back to that event {as amazing as it was} hurts my arms & shoulders! Other ‘wrapped’ Mummies will know my pain!
One part of the day that I did not expect was to end up on the official GWR official attempt team at the end of the day. It should have been Jenny from The Brick Castle up there, but I unintentionally beat her by one brick! {Sorry again Jenny, lol}. It was a terrifying experience. The fact that I completely failed due to nerves was gutting! However, seeing the pride on my daughter’s face as I stood up there made it all worth it.
But the biggest congratulations goes to the John Farnworth to reclaiming his GWR {for the most heel kicks with a football} and for Mummy from the Hearts son winning one too {For the most wood collected in Minecraft on a tablet!}.

This was an amazing event and a huge thank you for the Guinness World Record team for inviting us. We had the best time and since getting home I have found two of my children like this…

Ah mate, I wish I could’ve been at this one, it looks ace and would’ve been lovely to have seen you! The mummies… hahah! Looks like a boss day, glad you finally got to go to an event, I know you get asked to loads but none accommodate the fact you’re not even on the same island as us, haha! xx

What a fun packed day you had. Looks like lots of interesting activities were put on for you all to enjoy. We have a collection of books dating way back. It’s an iconic book and a great Christmas gift. Xx
