5 reasons I’d love to visit Orlando with my family

When I think of family holidays, there is an abundance of amazing destinations I would love to visit. My travel bucket list is getting a little crazy and unless I win the lottery, it’s not going to happen. However, if I was to share my top destination to take my family to? I’d have to say – hands down – Orlando, Florida.

Orlando is one of those dream holiday destinations – you know? It’s a place I know my family & I would remember for the rest of our lives. Maybe one day it will happen for us, but for now? I am happy to dream up my make-believe itineraries of what we would see & do while there.

This place is like the treasury of attractions and theme parks – such as Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, Legoland, Gatorland and even the SEALIFE Orlando Aquarium. This is to just name a few! Us being us, we would want to see it all and therefore, would need to spend more than a few weeks in Orlando to experience everything. Or, perhaps it’s a good excuse to go back? Who knows! Either way, we’d make it work and squeeze as much in as humanly possible.

We are a pretty adventurous family. Or, I’d like to think we are! Orlando would be like giving us a menu of joy and everything on it tastes great. It’s just whether or not we could fit everything in! Then again me being me, I’d make it fit! So, what would our first Orlando attraction be?

Gatorland

Visit Orlando

Gatorland in Orlando is known as the Alligator capital of the world and check this, you can even zip line over crocodiles and alligators. Sign me up for that! This would without a doubt be at the top of our list of Orlando attractions to visit. My kids absolutely love wildlife and some of the species of animal you can see in Gatorland they’ve never had the opportunity to see them in person before. If that doesn’t make for an unforgettable experience, I don’t know what will!

Legoland

Visit Orlando

I don’t think my kids would ever forgive me if we flew all the way out to Orlando, Florida and didn’t visit Legoland. My gang love Lego {so do I, to be fair!} and Legoland has always been on our list to visit! The closest we’ve ever got has been the Lego Discovery centre in Manchester, England. So this would certainly be a step-up! With more than 50 rides to experience, not to mention other attractions within the park and shows to enjoy. I doubt the kids would ever want to leave.

Being big Lego Movie fans too, it was exciting to hear that you can now visit Bricksburg. O-M-Gee, right? The Lego Movie has been brought to life with new rides, meet & greets and I for one want to battle through the waters against DUPLO® aliens to save the day in the flying theatre experience.

Universal Studios

Visit Orlando

This one has to be done right? To go to Universal Studios has been a dream of mine for, gosh, I cannot even tell you how long. We are all big movie fans and Universal Studios is the right place to be for any movie fan.

Being one of the biggest Jurassic Park fans, example; I was that kid who put “Jurassic Park Cassette movie soundtrack” on my Christmas wish list when I was 13! Yes, cassette, because it was 1993 and walkmans were our jam. So, you would most assuredly find me on the Jurassic Park River Adventure, absolutely loving life!

Nevermind everything else from the 3D Transformers ride, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and let’s not forget the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I have two Hufflepuffs and a Gryffindor in my family, so we would happily spend every spare moment drinking Butterbeer and playing Quidditch. That’s after learning a few spells, of course!

Disneys Typhoon Lagoon Waterpark

Visit Orlando

If there is one thing my kids love just as much as Harry Potter, it’s waterparks. So, it would be a crying shame not to visit one of Orlando’s best waterparks! We would want to experience everything from taking a family journey on Gang-Plank falls or take a relaxing journey around the entire park on the 2000-foot long Castaway Creek.

SEALIFE Orlando Aquarium

Visit Orlando

We have visited many Sealife centres around the UK and loved every single one. But to visit the Sealife Aquarium in Orlando would be amazing. Not to mention the 360 underwater tunnel, being able to meet Ted – their rescued sea turtle. Not to mention witnessing their unique dive shows and there is even a chance to meet a mermaid! I’m 38yrs old and I would love to experience that, never mind the kids. But how magical!

So there you go, 5 reasons why I’d love to visit Orlando with my family…
