What destinations should be on Your 2018 Bucket List?

Creating a 2018 bucket list of things that you need to experience and places to travel to is something that you can start working on now. There are so many exciting places in the world to explore and it is important to make note of places that interest you. Here is the “where” section of your 2018 bucket list.

The Dominican Republic, The Dominican Republic is in the Caribbean and this stunning country is ideal for people who are looking for luxurious resorts and fabulous beaches. Head to Punta Cana where you can get great all-inclusive packages that won’t break the bank. There is a stunning 32km stretch of white beaches that you can relax on or try out snorkelling, sailing, or kayaking. Charter a boat and go deep sea fishing for your dinner.

Paris, France

Paris is a fabulous city that everyone must explore at least once in their lives. Travel to the observatory deck of this iconic landmark to see a bird’s eye view of the city. Stroll along the famous Champs-Élysées where you can see Arc De Triomphe, visit high-end stores and stop at a bakery for a fabulous croissant or pain au chocolat. Explore Musée Rodin and Louvre to see some of the art that this city is famous for.

Spend a day exploring Montmartre and take the cable car to the Basilique du Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre. Catch a show at Moulin Rouge. Explore the Seine River by boat and take in the glorious sights of the city including the stunning architecture of Notre-Dame de Paris. You could rent a car and enjoy spending some time enjoying the countryside in the more rural areas on the outskirts. If you are travelling with family, then you could incorporate camping at the scenic La Croix Du Vieux Pont campsite into your itinerary.


Iceland is a stunning country to visit and it is known for having the lowest population density in all of Europe. This beautiful country is filled with natural wonders like towering waterfalls, active volcanoes, geysers, glacier-fed lakes, sulphur pools full of many colours, thermal pools, glaciers, beaches, and fjords. Renting a car and exploring on your own is a great way to visit this country. You can travel along The Ring Road and explore the natural scenery, and Viking history.


Rome is a fascinating place to explore and there are so many great places to add to your itinerary. Take a quiet walk on the path of the Tiber River. Make a wish and throw some coins in the stunning Trevi Fountain. Explore the wonders of the Vatican City and marvel at all of the stunning architecture, art, and exciting places to visit. Take a tour of the Colosseum and explore more than 2,000 years of history. Take a food tour of Rome and find out all of the best places to eat.

Mallorca, Spain

Mallorca is in Spain and it is the biggest of the Balearic Islands. There are plenty of small towns, villages, and beaches to explore and lots of accommodation options with stunning views. Inca is in the centre of the island and is great for shopping. Explore the capital city of Palma De Mallorca and its fabulous nightlife and architecture. Don’t forget about the beaches. Head to Es Calo des Moro Beach in Southern Mallorca and be amazed by the breath-taking beauty of this pristine beach that you have to hike down to. Spend a day relaxing on the smooth pebble of Sa Calobra Beach in Western Mallorca and go snorkelling and swimming.

    Iceland is on my list! I have heard that renting a car is the best option too as attractions are far apart and it’s a bit sparse there. I haven’t got any 2018 holidays booked yet apart from a staycation in Carlisle lol!

    We went on our honeymoon to Dominican Republic so can totally agree with that. And Rome? That is my favourite city! 🙂 x

    What some beautiful destinations, Iceland is most definitely somewhere I would love to go and visit one day, it always looks absolutely beautiful.

    Paris, Iceland and Rome are always the top 3 on my list of places to visit. I’ve not been abroad in 10 years and Paris was the last palce I visited outside of the UK. I think I would also love to add in Mexico

    Iceland is definitely on my list but non of the others – I’m hoping for Malta, Macedonia, a German city break and a UK destination next year.

    I have been to Majorca many times when I was a child and I would love to take my own kids there one day. However hubby doesn’t like the idea of heat.
