Vax Dual Power Pro Carpet Cleaner: Review!

We moved into the house we live in now, almost 5yrs ago. When we moved in we were happy to see that 70% of the house throughout was laminate flooring and only 2 rooms {and the hallway} had carpet. Upon moving in the carpet wasn’t in the best condition and looked pretty outdated and worn and I’m ashamed to say in the time we’ve been here, never had it replaced or washed. I know, gross right?

For me, being so busy, it’s just something I ever thought of doing. Sometimes you think to hoover ‘does the job’ but that’s just not the case. Vax was super kind and sent us out a Vax Dual Power Pro Carpet cleaner {current price £199.96} to review and quite frankly, I’m in love.
This carpet cleaner is a beast. Not lightweight by any means but from using it over these last few weeks I think it makes for a great workout. There is also no doubting the power of this carpet cleaner either nor its Dual V technology for a quicker carpet drying time.

All of the accessories for the cleaner comes in its own little storage bag {always a bonus!}. I loved this. Knowing that I could keep all of the parts & brushes for the cleaner in one place was pretty cool.

I’ve never used a carpet cleaner before, or any Vax products for that matter and I personally wasn’t sure what to expect. I’ll tell you one thing though, I was keen to see how well this Vax dual power pro would handle the cream carpet stains in our bedroom. So that’s exactly where I started.

This is a shot of one of the worst parts of our bedroom floor, so I figured starting there was as good a place as any.

Pretty gross right? This used to be one of the sides of our bed, namely the darling man’s, who is also a champion at spilling things. Hence this insane staining on the carpet. So I followed the instruction manual as I added warm water to its large capacity tank and also poured in the relative amount of carpet cleaning solution.

Before I started the deep clean of this section of carpet I decided to use the spin scrub brush provided to help with any stains and dirt embedded into our carpet. Judging by the look of it, it could use all the help it got.

The spin scrub brush did an amazing job at loosening all of the dirt and grime caused by many spillages and after using the overall cleaner, within a few strokes & a few squeezes of the trigger inside the curve of the handle, which releases the cleaning solution & water with its automix technology. I could see a difference. I then switched the cleaner to rinse to give the section of carpet a quick after wash before looking at the overall results of 5mins work.

This is a before and after photo to give you an idea…

What a difference, right?
I mean, the carpet literally looks brand new compared to what it looked like before and that’s just from doing a tiny square of carpet. Do you want to see the dirty water tank?

Brace yourself…
But sure, I love the idea that once I’m done our entire bedroom carpet is going to look so clean and like new again. I always knew carpets held onto dirt and grim but with the dual power pro cleaning system, it does an amazing job at loosening all of that dirt and washing it away.

I was really impressed how it sucked up any remaining water in our carpet that it could detect. It was actually quite fun being able to watch it being extracted from our carpet and seeing it drop into the dirty water tank. As astounded as I was to see how gross the water was, I was also happy that it was being removed from our carpet.

The square of carpet I cleaned did take quite a few hours to dry which didn’t really bother us because of the results being so fantastic. I love how versatile this cleaner is. It doesn’t just clean carpets, but hardwood floors and upholstery too. So I now have a long list of deep cleaning to do with the help of my new love, the Vax Dual Power Pro Carpet Cleaner.

Seeing what the Vax cleaner could do to just one tiny area of our bedroom carpet, I honestly couldn’t wait to unleash it onto the rest of the room and around the rest of the house.

Do you have carpet at home? How do you keep it clean?
