Turn your bedroom into a sleep haven in 3 easy steps

Bedroom safe haven
If you’re keen to turn your bedroom into a cosy haven, there is help at hand. Aside from enabling you to create a more relaxing environment, making some changes to your boudoir could improve your ability to sleep soundly, meaning you can wake up feeling rested and rejuvenated for the day ahead. To transform your room in three easy steps, keep reading.

  1. Evaluate your bed

It’s no secret that your bed plays an important role once nighttime rolls around. Since it’s the place you use to get the shut-eye you need, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t make sure your bed is as comfortable as it possibly can be. If you currently struggle to drift off, it could be that your saggy mattress, threadbare sheets, and lumpy pillows are to blame. Instead of putting up with this, you might want to evaluate your bed setup and make some improvements. For a complete overhaul, you could replace your entire bed with a new model. To enjoy maximum comfort while you sleep, you could go for an adjustable design. This type of bed can be tilted and positioned to suit you, and some models, such as the beds from Adjustamatic, also feature an in-built massage function.

  1. Perfect your lighting levels

So that you can drift off into a deep slumber, it’s essential that you perfect your lighting levels. Having too much light seeping into your boudoir, for example from a nearby lamppost outside, can have a huge impact on your ability to sleep well. To avoid being kept awake, you could fit your windows with suitable dressings. Blackout blinds or curtains are ideal. When closed off a night, you can enjoy the complete darkness, while during the daytime they can be drawn back to let natural light filter into your room. If you’re especially sensitive to light, you could even wear a sleep mask while you snooze.

  1. Get the temperature just right

Unless your room is the right temperature, you may struggle to get the shut-eye you need. Being too hot or too cold during the night can disturb your sleeping pattern, so if you’re keen to snooze soundly, you might want to make some slight changes. For example, if you feel chilly, you could sleep with the heating on, or you could have a blanket or throw to hand. You could also invest in a slightly thicker duvet cover. If you often feel hot and bothered during the early hours, you could position a fan next to your bed and keep your window ajar to let in fresh air while you doze.

Keeping these tips in mind could help you create the perfect cosy sleep space.
