Macro Photography – Ordinary Moments!

Macro photographyThis week my entire being has been consumed by a new world. Macro. I’m doing an online macro photography masterclass course with My Photo School {it started last Saturday} and since then everything I’ve been seeing has been with macro potential. Let me tell you something, though, it’s totally and completely devoured me.
IMG_20150606_213532[1]Just in case you’re wondering, yes, that is cello tape holding my macro close-up lens onto my camera lens. For some reason, the 55mm close-up lens I bought doesn’t fit on to my 18-55mm lens. Annoying. So I bought an adaptor, so hopefully that should be with me soon. But for now? the tape works!

So as well as the close-up lens kit I bought for my photography course I also invested in a diffuser. All £1.39 of it! I don’t have a flashgun any more, I didn’t see much use for it after I gave up doing Nightclub photography some years ago, so investing in this diffuser for my built-in flash I’m pleased to say works just as well.

My next investment was a ring flash, advised to me from a friend of the darling man. She’s actually doing a degree in medical photography. I am in love with the ring flash however I’ll be honest, we’re still trying to get acquainted. But I’m sure we’ll get there.  Either way? It looks damn sexy on my camera!

macro loveHalf of these were achieved on my camera phone would you believe! Camera phones are amazing aren’t they! I couldn’t be without mine. The other half {I was obsessed with the leaf as you can tell!} were taken with my DSLR using a +2 & +10 close-up lens. So that’s my week, how was yours?

Have you ever entered the world of Macro photography?

Oh wow these are absolutely beautiful Debs. I have been wanting a macro lens for so long now, the photos you have taken are just beautiful. I might have to invest in one after seeing this. xx

Thank you Kate! It’s all still so very new to me, but I think an actual macro lens will be on my Christmas list this year! xx
