Bedtime Stories with National Storytelling Week

Ever since I became a Mother at the young age of 19, I have loved reading my children stories and without a doubt, my favorite time of the day has to be when I get to read them their bedtime story. There is just something so peaceful and magical about reading your child their bedtime story. Making sure they are all washed and dressed for bed, tucking them in {I adore that part!} and snuggling in together to read your story before their little eyes close for a night of dreaming of gummi bears and slides.

Four out the five of my children are no longer keen on having Mummy read to them before bedtime {heartbreaking!} but I do have a little three-year-old who lives for stories at bedtime. So, joining in with Disney and National Storytelling Week, {Jan 30th to Feb 6th} – I thought I would share with you some of Annabelles favorite Disney related bedtime stories.

Disney - Bedtime stories - National Storytelling Week

With bedtime being my ultimate favourite moment of my day {not just because ‘me time’ is eminant} but because I get to watch my toddler excitedly run up to her bookcase to choose her book of choice for the evening.
Like every child…she goes through phases of which book is her favorite – so the above collection are a few of her current Disney loves at the moment. Although, at the moment her number one Disney story love without a doubt is her Toy Story 2 bedtime book. Nothing like the adventures of Woody & Bullseye to send a toddler off to sleep to dream wild dreams of cowboys and their trusty steeds.

Disney fans and bedtime stories aside, Disney has released a brand new app for the PC, Laptop, iPad and Smartphones called DisneyLife. This is a monthly subscription service costing you £9.99 per month and gives you access to loads of amazing Disney Classics, Box sets, Games, Music, and Books. Upon signing up to DisneyLife, you are given one-month free subscription to ‘try before you buy’ – and so far we’ve had ours for a few days and love it! It’s so nice being able to have everything Disney in one easily accessible place.

This is a great app and I think it’s amazing {with a big family} knowing that it can be downloaded onto 10 separate devices – you can also make a selection of profiles for each user too. A great feature for kids who all have different Disney favorites!

We are loving National Storytelling week and I cannot wait to see if we’ll be reading Woody & Bullseye tonight or if she’ll choose another Disney classic for Mama to read to her.

Does your LO have a favorite Disney bedtime story?

My kids always loved being read to, and are avid readers now. The app looks great for Disney fans 🙂

I have a super-active 15 month old who will, from time to time, sit still for 5 minutes to read a book with me. It’s definitely one of the best bonding moments of our day and it’s lovely to see him so interested in books. Long may it last! He’s not into Disney just yet, but the app looks great, I’ll keep it in mind since it won’t be long until he’s interested in cartoons.

We used to love story time and I can still recite a few of the Tubblet’s favourite books off by heart as we read them so much. What a great idea for an app
