My top 5 Christmas indulgences!

Christmas time is all about family, shopping for great gifts, seeing Santa Claus with the kids, putting up your tree and allowing yourself to indulge in copious amounts of food that you’d usually deny yourself throughout the rest of the year. Christmas is a loophole in the ‘let’s be healthy’ agreement, and you have full reign to go wild and indulge yourself in the yumminess of Christmas.

Now, the kids get enough, don’t they? I don’t know about you guys but my 5 munchkins always wind up with a stack of selection boxes almost the same height as me! So for this post, this is for my top 5 Christmas indulgences because as a Super Busy Mum, I deserve some treats too, right?

Chocolates.
If there is anything you need to know about me, it’s not only my weakness for chocolate but mint chocolate is my true Achilles heel. So after eight mints are just the most heavenly chocolate to indulge in and also those delicious mint crisp chocolates too! Yum!

Roast potatoes. We are one of those families that don’t sit down to a Sunday roast every week, so we’d really lose out on the scrummy indulgence of roast potatoes throughout most of the year. So at Christmas, they are gorged on by the dozen! And this is just by me! I love, love, love them!

Alcohol. I am not, nor have I ever been, a big drinker. However, I wouldn’t say no to a few cheeky ones once the kids are tucked up in bed and my poison of choice would have to be Southern Comfort and lemonade. It’s so sweet {and far too easy to drink!}. So while other family members would be good old James Bond Vodka fans, I’m more than happy treating myself to a few glasses of Southern Comfort.

Peanuts. I love peanuts. Salty ones, sweets ones, those new coated ones that you can get now. I love them all. They are such a fun snack food for any time of the day {in my opinion} and they are something that I do eat far too many of over the festive season.

Baileys Chocolat Luxe. Now I know I could have {or should have} placed this into the alcohol section of this post, however, this is such a luxurious item I felt it needed a section all to its own.
I have never tasted this version of Bailey’s liquor, have you? It looks so deliciously fancy and super yum that I know once I get that first taste, my southern comfort may be put to one side and overruled!

Do you have anything in particular that you indulge in over Christmas?

Christmas is good in that you can go a bit mad and not feel guilty! Totally with you on the roast potatoes for the same reason and the Southern Comfort too, although Vodka would do, I’m really not fussy lol 🙂 Thanks for hosting the #MMWBH

Oh yes to After Eights! Christmas is the one time of year I really miss being away from the UK because so many things that I grew up with just aren’t available here, or don’t taste the same. Last year I found an imported M&S christmas cake but it was pretty dried-out from all its travels! Oh well!

I LOVE Baileys, I missed it so much last year when I was pregnant, can’t wait to indulge this year! #MMWBH

My Mum always used to buy Chocolate Brazil nuts for herself over Christmas, and I find myself doing it now – not sure if I even like them that much, or whether its just the memories they bring back, but either way its my little moment 🙂

I used to be a big Southern Comfort drinker but found it too sweet for me. Baileys has always been a winter favorite though

Roast potatoes! I’ve eaten my lunch and am hungry all over again now. Great list for Christmas

I don’t like Southern Comfort…my only experience with it was at the lake as a teenager, and some falling over drunk lady walked up and stuck the bottle in my face and told me to take a drink, so I did, and so did my friend, and I just thought it was horrible.

My favorite Christmas indulgence would have to be the little Domino gingerbread cookies that are imported from Germany, or somewhere in Europe. I eat way too many each December! In fact, I need to get over to Cost Plus and get some before they get sold out.

Oh gosh, did you take it straight? Bleurgh! You mad woman, lol! With lemonade and it’s so sweet and let me just say…FAR to easy to drink, lol. Hang on, Dominos do GINGERBREAD cookies at Christmas? How did I not know this!!

I don’t drink, but I completely agree about the After Eights & the roast potatoes. I would honestly be happy with a Christmas dinner that was just roast potatoes, stuffing, pigs in blankets and gravy! #MMWBH

M & S do these amazing honey roasted cashew nuts and I always buy some to put away for presents…and end up eating them myself! Much like the shortbread I buy for presents!! xx #mmwbh
