Looking into UK Walking holidays with Inntravel #GastroTrail

When I think of a holiday with the husband and kids, I’ll be honest, a walking holiday isn’t at the forefront of my mind. But after looking into them a bit more, it is something I would seriously consider doing. The UK is a stunning country, truly and if you have never been to our shores then you are missing a treat. From cosy pubs to English rose-filled gardens. Fields of romantic heather-clad moorlands to majestic coastlines.

Inntravel, UK Walking holiday specialists {the slow holiday people!} offers self-guided activity holidays throughout Europe & beyond and have done so since, 1954. The range of walking holidays put together by Inntravel is nothing short of impressive. From hotel to hotel cycling holidays, wheels & wandering experiences, self-guided walking adventures or even a family activity holiday. As I said, the range of holidays to choose from is impressive.

For me, personally, I’d love to go on a family walking holiday. But, in all honesty, I don’t think the kids would be too overjoyed at the idea. But I am almost 100% sure, that once they got going, seeing all of the amazing places, they would love it. Inntravel also send your luggage on ahead, so the only things you need to carry are drinks, snacks and maybe even the little ones when they get tired legs! I honestly cannot think of a more unique holiday experience.

A walking holiday, in particular, that is coming up is the Yorkshire Gastronomic Trail. This is a holiday experience that you can do whether you are a foodie or not. However, I think being a foodie is a bonus! The gastronomic trail starts in Harome and ends in Malton and you get the opportunity to see bustling market towns, castle ruins, walled gardens, vineyards and so much more. However, if you are not a foodie, you can still take this walking holiday, just minus the guided food visits because Inntravel provides a slightly alternated route for you.

Malton looks like such a quaint little town – have you ever been? Also, did you know that on 26th & 27th May the Malton Food Lovers Festival takes place – which I think really gives their town the title of Yorkshires food capital!

I have been to a few food festivals myself and with the celebrity chef demos, fun music, delicious taste testings {where you always come away with a full tummy!} and not to leave out the little ones, because they make great family events, too.

Have you ever been on a walking holiday before? Or a food festival!? I’d love to hear all about them in the comments below!
