Hello December!

Hello DecemberI cannot believe it. The final {and best} time of the year is here. Where did the last 11 months go? Can anyone tell me that? It has been completely gobbled up by school runs, birthdays, family holidays, dramatics, little ones getting bigger and timeless memories being made.

December is such an exciting month because {like I need to tell you!} but it’s the official day that we can start the countdown to Christmas day. Eeeek! Also, if you’re like us and have a special Elf staying for the next 24 nights, the month of December just gets even more exciting, right? Or at least until we crawl into bed and remember {once we’ve got comfortable & warm, of course!} that we’ve forgotten to move the elf!! Doh!! I give myself a week before this happens!

Being December it also means that all of my five children have had their birthdays {First one being January, and last one clocking in November}. Which also means that next month the birthday celebrations start all.over.again and I am in complete denial that my youngest will be turning three. Silently sobs.

December brings my Mums anniversary of her passing {4th}, it’ll be 2yrs since she passed away {I still think it’s some form of cruel joke} and yes it’s sad, but we’re learning to celebrate that day because I know she would prefer that, and most likely kick my backside for being glum on the run up to Christmas. December also brings about me having to apply for my toddlers nursery school placement for next September. Nursery. N.U.R.S.E.R.Y. Sigh. Again sitting firmly in denial.

So this month is going to whoosh by us all in a chaotic mess of Tesco queues as long as your average football field, wrapping paper sword fights, festive drinks, twinkling lights, festive hats, baked goods, selection boxes, bad cracker jokes, roaring fires, sleeping babes and the rings of Christmas bells, along with the wishes of children.

I love December. This final month is the finale of our year….and I intend to spend it being nothing but happy, content and thankful for what 2015 has brought me and my family. I am also ready to take on Christmas head on, arms wide open for hugs and second helpings of roast potatoes! Mistletoe kisses and enough selection boxes unwrapped on Christmas morning to open my own confectionary store with!

So Hello December...you’re going to be a festive beauty and I cannot wait to see you through.

Do you have a favourite month of the year?

I would have to agree: I don’t know where the last 11 months have gone either! I love December as much as you do and for the very same reasons. It sounds like you’ve had a busy but beautiful year! I hope you enjoy the final month in 2015 and welcome the following year with as much joy and happiness as you did the last.

I love the run up to it all and thinking about it, its probably my favourite time of year and Mia is just getting more interested in everything and will know whats going on so that’s exciting! 🙂

I love December too! My favourite month. It does always go too fast and in a bit too much stress and chaos, though! Every year, I plan to try to be more organised way in advance so I can enjoy the month without massive amounts to do getting in the way, but it never happens. #MMWBH
