Exploring the world with Smart Globe Adventure AR

I have always been a curious monkey and I am so happy that my children seem to be following in the same curious footsteps as my own. We’re always keen to learn new things about the world around us, animals, natural disasters, weather climates & more.

We were kindly sent out the Smart Globe Adventure AR to review, from Oregon Scientific and the kids couldn’t wait to get it out of the box to have a go. It’s an impressive size, it comes with already batteries installed and has a smart learning pen attached. It arrives with everything you need to start feeding that curious nature straight away – which my kids did not hold back on.

This product is aimed at children aged 5yrs+ and requires 3 x AAA batteries – but as I mentioned before it came with batteries already included which I found to be really handy.

My 12yo instantly delved into playing one of the games – it would ask her to find certain countries on the map and after each “Find Japan” or “Find Moscow” it would give you a time limit to find each one. I loved watching her focusing so incredibly hard to beat the time limit to find each country – it’s such a clever game to help her learn not only countries of the world, but whereabouts they are on the world map.

As she played she said to me how responsive the touch pen was on the globe – this was good to know because I’ve had experience with products like this not being as responsive as they should be, so it was awesome to see that this touch pen was very responsive to the Smart Globe Adventure AR.

The kids really enjoyed having fun with the games and finding out about famous places, landmarks and more. However, the one thing they really loved, was the Augmented reality aspect of this product. The app is free to download {available on both Android & iOS} and you can even register the globe to 5 different devices which I found really handy.

Using the AR app you can scan the globe for landmarks, animals, weather and even dinosaurs! We thought it was very cool when we scanned over the US to see massive hurricanes forming and even snow over parts of Europe! It was fascinating.

It was also pretty cool being able to scan the globe to see where certain dinosaurs originated from and being able to click on each one to find out more about them.

Smart Globe Adventure AR Review

This Smart Globe Adventure AR is quite simply, wonderful. To have access to an interactive world {quite literally} full of amazing knowledge is such a gift and it will certainly be a fun way to research any homework or school assignments that my 9 & 12year olds might have.

The Smart Globe Adventure AR would honestly make the perfect gift for any child this Christmas – it’s aimed at 5yrs and up {my 4yo can use it perfectly and just loves getting in on the action too} however, this product will see any child from Primary school through to High School and for just £59.99 it’s a no-brainer of an investment. As the grown up in the house – it’s actually hard not to get in on the kids fun too and learn a little yourself! I mean, if you have the opportunity to travel the world from your living room – why not!

Disclosure: I was kindly gifted this product for the purpose of this review. All thoughts, photos & opinions are my own.
